Mox
There are literally zero valid arguments for putting anyone ahead of Rice. 1. Jerry Rice 2. Randy Moss 3. Terrell Owens 4. Calvin Johnson 5. Antonio Brown
ET80
1. Rice - Perhaps the greatest football player to ever exist. (Or at least a 1b with Tom Brady). 2. Moss - The most gifted athlete at the position, had physical attributes that couldn't even be replicated in Madden. 3. TO - Physical specimen, could not stop him 1v1 with a full head of steam. 4. Calvin Johnson - Physicality similar to Owens, speed/acceleration similar to Moss, 50/50 ability similar to Larry Fitzgerald. 5. Larry Fitzgerald - Perhaps the best jump ball guy in football, perhaps the best pure hands in football, had a knack for making the big play on the biggest stages. (Steve Smith is my next guy up).
Phinsesq
1. Rice- The era the guy played in was not offense friendly nor player safety friendly and he was a monster. 2. Calvin Johnson. Oh what could have been for this guy, perhaps I put him too high based on unutilized potential. 3. TO- Talented, entertaining for both good and bad reasons. The recovery from the broken leg to return for Superbowl 39 and ball out. 4. Julio Jones- Say what you want about his injuries of late, when he is on, he is unstoppable. 5. Larry Fitzgerald- Would have been within his right to crow about being the best. Just not his style, I respect that.

BayRaider
After Rice, it’s just a collection of 8-9 really good receivers. Like, not much difference from 2 through 9. Shame about AB. He really had the potential to match Jerry Rice. Everything about his skillset was nearly as good as Rice’s. Just lacked the height.

I don't think he was going to catch Rice but he was clearly the best WR for a number of years, and he's still going to end up having a ridiculous career.

Sorry, Julio was never as good as Prime AB. Prime AB was insane. His skillset was freakish, and was a technical master just like Rice. Jones has the athletcism and height but as a football player, he’s not quite Rice/Brown level. And when it comes to technical skills, he’s no where close to those two. Don’t get me wrong, Julio is fantastic.

He literally had a route named after him in Shanahan's playbook. I don't think you watched enough of him to have this conclusion. He did everything Brown did AND had the size and physicality on top of it. Edited November 10, 2021 by scar988
mdonnelly21
I just don't feel like Julio was quite on the level of AB either. AB is a top 10 WR. Julio is probably about a top 15. Julio wasn't nearly as consistent for years, lacked Touchdowns. AB in his Pitt years was the most consistent year in and year out WR I've ever watched. Clearly more than Calvin and even more than T.O and T.O is my 3rd best WR.
