Not a huge win for either team really. Everyone kinda lost but the Raiders lost worse due to how badly we wasted those assets.

Yup. On paper Mack played up to or over compensation and the Raiders saved lots of money and got multiple firsts that were then squandered. The Bears have never been close to going anywhere while he's been there and, ironically, the Raiders have had their moments (like right now) despite the assets netting next to nothing.

Only person that won in this trade was Mack. He got paid. The Raiders didn't capitalize on the draft picks and cap space. The Bears didn't build an offense.

The Bears are going to get around to building an offense at some point. Everyone is in such a rush these days.

Its not like they’re gonna bring in a guy like Mack and then just inexplicably decide not to do anything else significant for the next half decade. I mean come on you guys act like he Bears have no idea what they’re doing.

And at that point, their defense is going to be awful again.  Look at their "starters".  They've got Akiem Hicks (32 years old), Eddie Goldman (27), Bilal Nichols (25), Danny Trevathan (31), Roquan Smith (24), Robert Quinn (31), Jaylon Johnson (22), Tashaun Gipson (31), Eddie Jackson (27), and Kindle Vildor (23).  Unless the light comes on quick for Justin Fields, how much of that core is going to be in place in 2-3 years and playing at a high level?

My post was 100% facetious. I laid it on as thick as I could.

I kind of saw this coming, he was going on missing 3 weeks after the bye.....he broke his foot or tore a ligament or something

Bears still won this trade, we made playoffs I think every year he was here( I think Bears fans base are the only one who count making the playoffs as fails haha)

We honestly are just old on defense, Fields is the second youngest QB in the NFL....we straight just got to rebuild around Fields....like this team needs to be more on the Wilson/Mahomes/Jackson side......while he is in his first contract I would like to sign some splash FA's when Foles and Dalton come off are books....I think we can get rid of Quinn too
