Keke can play, don’t know what the packers were thinking. I saw some reports that said he had a fight with the coaching staff so that’s why they waived him. I like this pickup a lot. He’s good depth and could be in line to get plenty of snaps if Collins isn’t resigned.

What's interesting is this quote from rotoworld from when he was drafted: "Keke offers Malik Jackson-level upside as an interior sub-rusher. It's not a stretch to say he'll compete from Day One on the Packers' interior defensive line."
jch1911
So I think we go 1 of 2 ways, depending on head coach hire: (1) quick rebuild & competitive (Flores) or (2) extended rebuild / slow & steady (Mayo, Gannon, O'Connel) I am refusing to accept most other HC options in order to keep my sanity. Say it is Flores... what could a quick rebuild look like? (1) coaches Flores makes Pep OC; hires Mayo as DC; retain Campen as OL; keep Ross as ST coordinator runs heavy play action, wide zone offensive scheme (emphasize agile OL) + hybrid front defensive scheme (2) trades - Watson to NYG to be coached by Daboll (yeah, I said it) for 2022 1st (#5) + 2022 (2nd) + 2022 3rd (MIA) + 2023 1st + 2024 1st + edge Elerson Smith - edge Jordan Jenkins to IND for edge Ben Banogu - CB / S Lonnie Johnson + 2022 3rd to MIA for CB Xavien Howard - swap 2022 6th to DET for TE Brock Wright (DET) + 2022 7th (3) cuts - SS Eric Murray frees up $5.5 - T Marcus Cannon frees up $5.2M cap space at about $40M (4) free agents (listed non-minimum deals) - sign QB Andy Dalton (CHI) (2 years, $8M) 4 - re-sign WR Chris Conley (HOU) (1 year, $3M) 3 - sign G/C James Daniels (CHI) (4 years, $32M) 8 - sign G/C Scott Quessenberry (LAC) (3 years, $9M) 3 - sign NT Vernon Butler (BUF) (2 years, $4M) 2 - sign DE Sebastian Joseph-Day (LAR) (3 years, $6M) 2 - re-sign LB Kamu Grangier-Hill (HOU) (3 years, $15M) 5 - sign LB Jamie Collins (NEP) (1 year, $3M) 3 - re-sign edge Chris Smith (HOU) (1 year, $1M) 1 - re-sign CB Desmond King (HOU) (3 years, $15M) 5 - transition tag S Justin Reid (HOU) $11.2M Draft 1-3 S Kyle Hamilton, Notre Dame 1-5 CB Ahmad Gardner, Cincinnati 2 (HOU) RB Isaiah Spiller, TAMU 2 (NYG) TE Jalen Wydermyer, TAMU 3 LB Chad Muma, Wyoming 6 QB Baily Zeppe, W. It gives me hope - I really like what you did here, thought I'd probably make a few changes.. If we end up with two top 5 picks, I'd like us to trade down from one of those spots. Also, if we're going to draft Bailey Zappe (who will likely be drafted well before the 6th round IMO), I think Andy Dalton is unnecessary. If we're going to bench Mills due to bad performance, I'd like his replacement to represent some semblance of hope, and to be someone who could potentially grow into a starting caliber guy, like Mills. I think Mills' backup should be another guy like Mills. Also I think it'll be important for us to retain Maliek Collins. Also, I'd prefer to keep Lovie rather than switch to Jerod Mayo. But I like the draft picks, and bringing back KG, picking up Jamie Collins.. I'd be excited about next season if the offseason went this way for sure

Pastor Dillon
Of we trade Watson and Tunsil and don’t sign anyone beyond a 1 year deal this summer, we have a full reset next off season with only guys on rookie deals and another top 5 pick. That might be the way to go.

If the player leaves, those hits remain on the team's salary cap https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/houston-texans/brandin-cooks-14429/

I'd be happy signing him to like a 3-4 year extension for like 40 mil
