Silver also said on that podcast that he heard Kittle might retire in a season or two. That could fit. I know when Embree's contract was not renewed (people thought he was fired but his contract was simply up) that there were people who were legitimately calling Kyle a racist. I am not sure where that came from or if Embree himself was saying that behind the scenes, but if the split was not amicable then this could be the source of all of these leaks. Those accusations died very fast when Anthony Lynn was hired shortly after.
49erurtaza
Clip from Kyle from 2017 he spoke about how he would use mobile QBs. Going to be interesting how Kyle balances zone read and play action. Edited July 15, 2022 by 49erurtaza

Reporters were trigger happy with this one.

adamq
I think this forum was (for the most part) in on the "anyone but Mac" train. Heres a hypothetical.. One year later, the 49ers get the opportunity to swap Lance for Mac Jones... Who makes that deal? Mac was hands down the most impressive and successful of any 2021 QB, but Lance has shown flashes of a next level not possible for Mac Edited August 16, 2022 by adamq

No deals needed. PURDY will be our starter by September and then for over a decade on....
BayRaider
Mac was always expected to have the best rookie year, he was the second most pro ready behind Lawrence and was in a miles better situation than Lawrence. However, Mac has the lowest ceiling of all five first round QB’s by far. If anyone would actually take Mac over the other four QB’s right now today, even with his rookie season, that would be a bad decision. Especially over Lawrence and Lance who have mega-superstar potential.
Chrissooner49er
I was very ready to take Mac Jones. Even at 3. Knew too little about Lance, didn't care for Fields. Loved Wilson. However, when it came closer to the Draft, I did start listening to those who wanted Lance, looked a little deeper and was good with the selection.

No one is better off with Mac long term though. You can’t think one or two seasons. Although Zach Wilson and Justin Fields certainly need to show anything this season, or the premature bust labels might start to rear their ugly head. Problem for Fields is in a season with a bad team, they might move on.

No way they move on from Fields after two seasons. Especially when they know he has the #32 Ranked OL and Bottom 3 WR core.

If the Bears are sitting there picking first overall i think they would strongly consider a top QB.
