Win and youre in. Gonna be a tough game this week, lets see if Mahomes can come up with some magic.

It's almost like the season is a series of increasing tasks, designed to get us ready for the playoff run. First there was the difficult start when the defense was hurt and the offense played badly. That ended with the embarrassment by the Titans. Then there was the three game stretch of Green Bay, Las Vegas, and Dallas. we had some breaks, but that turned out well. Then were the three division games of escalating difficulty. We had to reach deep to pull out the Chargers game, but there it was.

Now, we have a game against a decent but flawed team, missing some of our best offensive weapons. That said, we have one of the top 10 rushing attacks in the NFL and Pittsburgh is vulnerable against the run. There are reasons to hope for a big game. Defensively, we are top half of the league and Pittsburgh just misses the bottom 10. At home, the only reason for concern is the players who are missing. News Flash: Chris Jones, Willy Gay, and L'Jarius Sneed are back. Let's go kick some assets.

Top 10 rushing attack? By what measure? YPC? Its certainly not based off yards 😂

The #7 ranking is Football Outsiders weighted metrics.

However, we are #9 in yards per carry.

The Thursday and Saturday games had little impact on the Chiefs, but it did a great deal to promote the Indianapolis Colts as serious contenders. The would currently play the practically next door Cincinnati Bengals in the first round.

The team of inerest to us won on Thursday. The Tennessee Titams are a half game back and hold the head to head tie breaker on the Chiefs. The have Miami at home and the Texans in Houston to finish the season. If they win both, and they will be favored, then we have to win out to keep the #1 seed. As noted above, the Titans have the Colts breathing down their neck.

Quite a few teams will have their theoretical chnces end tomottow.

It's halftime and I'm looking at the impact of early games. Buffalo beating New England is big, partly because the Blls now hold the tiebreaker. The Chargers lose two straight and are all but out. Pittsburgh is the #7 seed until this game is over.

Cincinnati, our next opponent, torched Bltimore, all but eliminating the Ravens. Don't raise your had if you saw that coming last summer. None of you did.

Didnt think the Ravens would be this injured either, next weeks game is gonna be big, might just be a preview of the playoffs

Precisely. The Ravens have 17 players on IR. This week they had ~10 players on the COVID list including their top 2 QBs. They aren't as bad as their record this year.
