Always feel uncomfortable when someone like Deebo is so prone to hammy and groin issues. But he was badly needed and gives us a chance to win a shootout.

2 weeks isn't enough for a groin injury. If he's still questionable now then give him another week. If it goes again then he's gone for the year. Even if we lose this week we still have a very good chance of playoffs and we won't win one without Deebo.

It's not the most important thing ever, but nice to be able to deploy that kind of versatility for your defense

I don't know, but it could be interesting context to know what the guy on the opposite side is doing while he is either on the right or the left. Oddly enough, I kinda feel like the most production we got from the opposite side is when Bosa is lining up against the right tackle, and whoever else is lining up against the left. Last week, Jordan Willis had a sack this way. Obviously, versatility is great. But maybe he changes a few more things to the offense when he goes against their right side. Like, they have to shift more players out of their spots than they would if he lined up against their left tackle.

The good thing is that Deebo pulled up as soon as he felt something wrong, during the game, and didn't try to play through it back then. How many injuries are aggravated right away by players trying to toughen it out, or simply not realizing the severity of their injury because of the adrenaline of the game? Just like Trey only realized the following morning that he was injured.

Then again, players play injured all the time. It's a risk mitigation kind of deal. We blame our strength and conditioning staff all the time, but the reality is, injuries are always worse when you lose. When your team wins, the players play through the injuries when they can, and they minimize the symptoms, perhaps. When the team is losing, there's no point in forcing things out. So a 2-4 weeks injury, last year you'd take the full 4 weeks to recover, because the team is going nowhere. But this year, while there's still a chance, you take the 2 and grind it out. And I feel that Deebo, as a 3 year veteran now, understands his body and his limits better than he did as a rookie or sophomore. So I'm not too worried about him aggravating the injury. If he does, so be it. But chances are, he might have had a similar injury even if he had recovered to 100%. It's a physical game, things happen. And if we go on another streak, we'll see other players come back from injuries, and we'll be worried. But winning makes these guys want to play. If we start losing and the playoffs slip away, you'll see the IR crowd really fast, like last year, and 2018.
