MD4L Posted December 16, 2021 Share Posted December 16, 2021 Our first playoff rematch of 2021. This is a defensive game the entire way. I see both defenses having success with both offenses remaining one dimensional. The deciding factor is what should be trusted more; Death Valley’s passing offense w Stafford and Kamara vs Ivory Coast running game with Chubb and that OL. This isn’t a game I feel comfortable choosing as I would be prone to switching back and forth on a consistent basis. I can see Chubb producing nice numbers and helping Ivory Coast get on the board but I like the defense Death Valley brings to the table. Conversely, it’s hard finding a one sided matchup for Death Valley to win frequently this week. However, upon further review I see Kamara the receiver being able to win big against Devin White as a receiver. I have an overtime contest that sees both team punt, but the workhorse performance of Kamara and a Tannehill turnover in the 5th quarter allows Death Valley to avenge a playoff loss from last year and win 23-20. rackcs Posted December 16, 2021 Share Posted December 16, 2021 I think a few weeks ago in this same matchup I might've gone IC. I almost went them here anyways, this was a close matchup. Ultimately though, most of DV's defense has been stepping up lately and I think IC will have a harder time moving the ball than DV will. Long & short, no weaknesses on defense which makes them difficult to move the ball against while that offense lit it up this week and Stafford put the questions about his health behind him. Ivory Coast hasn't been helped by injury and I think the play-action game of Tannehill & Chubb + Elliott works against anyone, but I think Kamara's return is the real difference here as he's one of a handful of genuine game breakers in the run and pass game at RB and the medley of no.2 types at WR for DV are enough to keep the passing game moving.
