2016

We sign Pryor who goes to get 1k yards on a sorry season

1.15 Corey Coleman bust and a terrible person
4.114 Louis bad
4.138 Seth DeValve the Gronk of the Ivy leagues briefly mediocre then out of the league
5.154 Joran Payton one reception
5.172 Rishard Higgins solid depth

2017

Lose Pryor, who was then terrible.

gain Kenny Britt huge waste of money, would run routes in practice would only walk them. Gregg warned against signing him. Cut soon after by Dorsey.

1.29 David Njoku flashes of brilliance, but has not been effective for us consistently.

2018

resign Josh Gordon trade after 1 week. 1 reception 17 yards.

Trade for Jarvis Landry 4th and a 7th sign to a 75 million dollar contract.  He produces 2k in his first two years and is sitting at 1200 for the next two. To his credit he was great vs the Steelers in the playoffs.

4.105 Antonio Callaway, highly talented, physically, didnt want to be a pro, showed flashes of greatness
6.175 Damian Ratley flashes of mediocrity and out of the league.

2019

OBJ

The Browns acquired WR Odell Beckham, Jr. and LB Olivier Vernon from the New York Giants in exchange for SS Jabrill Peppers, G Kevin Zeitler, and 2019 1st-round (No. 17) and 3rd-round (No. 95) selections.

This includes OBJ mega contract briefly the highest paid WR in the NFL.

Odell Beckham Was Too Sloppy Against The Ravens

Demetrious Harris. He was pretty bad for us.

2020

Austin Hooper is made briefly the highest paid TE in the NFL. 2020 he manages 9.5 YPC and 2021 8.8 YPC without many explosive plays

4.115 Harrison Bryant, he has had some moments as a receiving tight end for us, not looking like a true no.1 TE
6.187 Draft DPJ, an inconsistent but explosive play maker, he hasnt declared what he is a no.2,3 or no.4 WR

2021

3.91 Anthony Schwartz he has failed to make much of an impact for us as a WR.

RECAP

In recap after trading a 1, Peppers, trading a 4th and a 7th, using multiple late and a mid round pick we have failed to acquire a starting WR. this includes millions of dollars and having the highest paid WR group in the NFL.

Further, we have spent premium money and picks on tight ends and have only had mediocre at best production from them. its not a failure to allocate resources to the position, its a failure to execute

this cluster of development, spans 3 GMs, Sachi, Dorsey and Berry.

A wide variety of coaches that have failed to develop the talent too.

Farmer was on record saying he didn’t value receivers.

We drafted Corey Coleman who was awful. Aside from him, the last real effort we made to draft one high was Braylon almost 20 years ago.

Sure there are a lot of gems later on, but we haven’t made an effort to address that spot in a long time. 5 years is an eternity in the NFL, let alone a mid first round pick.

We essentially spend 2 1st on OBJ with Peppers and the no.17 overall pick.
We missed out on AJ Brown, Hollywood Brown, DK Metcalf, and other players.

some of the most unclutch pass catchers too. I cant think of a defining catch by a WR in a long time. I can think of the drops but the catches that stand out, are not there. Hell the only catch is maybe the Njoku TD vs the ravens but that wasnt really a catch lol

I can recall way too many meaningful drops than meaningful catches and that is quite sad...

Well, other than all that, Mrs. Lincoln, how have you enjoyed the play?

We’ve historically struggled finding WR talent. Our best WR off the top of my head is Warfield, but that’s it. It’s the same deal with QBs and defensive players for the most part.

We’re historically known for runningbacks and offensive linemen. You could include tight ends also.

well first of all we went from a excellent wide receiving team to 30th.

that said nobody mediocre WR receiver will sign with us.

first eg if we win out we maybe selecting 22nd that means 6 wide receivers off the board who is you 7th WR

second eg we draft 10th but 3 wr come off the board who is the 4th wr

it is going to be interesting but i suggest we get a better wr coach that can assist Berry with drafting.

God I couldn’t even think about that damn. With him it’s dropping the pass vs the ravens not making the tough catch vs the packers and the fumble that happen early in the season
