I do believe Bowles deserves a shot over other DCs like Gannon and Eberflus.  Bowles actually did have a winning season with the Jets.  Also, the organization gave him Darnold at QB with Brady in the division.  Talk about 1 arm tied behind your back

I wonder if Harbaugh to Vegas is dead.  I would think there would be some type of previous working relationship with the GM for Harbaugh.

Sounds like Spytek and Bowles only have interest from Vegas at this point.

Michigan apparently offered Harbs a nice chunk of change to stay. I haven't seen much since then.

Clash with the GM.  Harbaugh got a reputation as abrasive.  Plus, Michigan thru a boatload of money at him.

Ironically, the same GM that will now be working with Lefty.

Harbaugh is one of those coaches who can come in a win/have success right away in the NFL, but his act wears thin on professional athletes after a few seasons and guys start to get turned off.

The Ravens have requested permission to interview Bucs ILBs coach Mike Caldwell for their defensive coordinator vacancy.

....maybe I'm just unaware...

Is Caldwell even that good a coach? It's not like we are all clamoring to keep even Bowles let alone some of his understudies

Sounding like Mike Caldwell is the favorite for our DC gig. Based on the previous comments I’m assuming y’all don’t know much about him?

He was ILB on the staff.  If Bowles was to get a HC gig, rumor was Larry Foote was the DC in waiting on the staff.  I thought Caldwell was in the mix for the Ravens DC job.

What I find interesting in Philly, Pedersen had Schwartz at DC.  They were a 4-3 wide 9 defense with very little blitzing.  Well, that is pretty much opposite the foundation of the Bucs defense.  Assuming Caldwell's philosophy would be similiar to Bowles.

Very surprising no one off the staff has been offered a promotion the last 2 offseasons.  Hopefully, Caldwell ends this streak.

Yeah, peeping Caldwells resume it seems like he’s been Bowles right hand dating back to his days in Arizona almost a decade ago.

Based on what I’ve read about Pederson, it sounds like he allows the DC to pretty much do his own thing. So I don’t think scheme/style of defense he ran in Philly matters much.

Garafolo name dropped Caldwell on Friday morning when talking about staff hires to look for. Sounds like there’s been more smoke today about that ultimately being the DC hire.
