What would you do with Waller?

  1. 1. What would you do wither Waller?

    • Re-sign him to a huge money deal (Likely becoming the highest paid TE, $15M+ per season)
      9
    • Trade him for a large package while we can (Picks and/or prospects?)
      12
    • He should honor his contract so stay put (If/when he asks for more money, don't budge and force him to sit out if he refuses to play)

I wish I could give 20 likes.  I think if this team is a Super Bowl contender and goes on a run it will have to look like the Bengals of last year.  Which means Carr is going to have to take a lot of hits and still stay in the pocket to make the throws among other things.

I don't think this team is a Super Bowl contender, but from the roster moves and contracts we have made, the coaching staff is going all in the next three years. They think they can win a Super Bowl in one of these three seasons.

But I do think this team is better than a .500 team. We should be able to go at least 10-7 with all the firepower we have. And our defense may not be good but it's miles better than it was from 2012-2020.

I was thinking this today. The closest thing our team this year represents is the Bengal of last year. Very weak on the o-line, but loads of offensive talent and a good QB. We'll have to get lucky to make a playoff run, it's possible but will be hard.

Waller not named a captain this year and still no deal…. this is looking bad. Hoping there will be an announcement any minute of an extension.

Without Waller, I think we go 8-9, as opposing teams can gameplan Adams and Renfrow much easier.

If we are giving him $7 per this year and next guaranteed with no guaranteed money after year 2 I am handing him that contract yesterday.  He should fire his agent if that is the best he can get.  He should get more than $14 guaranteed this year when you factor in his signing bonus.  If he is getting a big signing bonus  do not like it.  He will not be worth the money in years 3 and 4.

You're so dramatic. Waller not being named a captain over Adams/Carr/Miller isn't a big deal at all, it's pretty clear we wanted captains that were in different positional groups on both sides of the ball. He fired Klutch Sports two weeks ago and has only been with his new agent for 10 days. Missing a ton of time in camp wasn't ideal but he's a veteran. He practiced all week and doesn't have an injury designation ahead of the game. I'd be worried if he was staying away from the team or something like that but he has been making public appearances with Mark Davis in Vegas.

I don't see how it's much different from last season, I think McDaniels will scheme around some of our OL problems.

LFG!!

I don't like tying yourself to any 30 year old for 5 years and 66 million. But I'd have to think it's team friendly in the last 2 years. Either way I'm glad our playmaking core is now intact. Kudos to Zeigler to locking everyone up long term. Something Gruden and Mayock didn't do. They let mack walk.
