Pastor Dillon
Watson was just named AFC offensive player of the month for October and with good reason. He dominated all month long and that's even with a bye week. 16 TD passes in October hes the 1st rookie QB to win the award. So it begs the question, could a rookie QB win MVP in today's league? Prescot didn't last year and his team had the best record. But he didn't have Watsons numbers. Let's just say that Watson keeps up his current pace. He will finish with around 4,000 yards and 40 passing TDs plus 400 yards rushing. Easily MVP numbers but what does the team have to do? Win 11 games? Win 12? That would require an 8-1 or 9-0 finish. It's possible but unlikely. What if Watson throws 50 TD passes and we win 9 games and get a wild card? 50 TDs would basically require 3 a game from here on out with four 4 TD games. These se are all hypotheticals of course, but what kind of season would it take? He's already got the name recognition from winnin a national championship last year. Prescott was kinda out of nowhere and that hurt him some. I would say he needs 45 TDs and we need to win 11 games and win the division. I put that at about a 25% chance of happening. UKTexans
He'll have a slump at some stage. I also don't think we make the playoffs.
Marco79
If Watson continues to put up the numbers he has and carries the team to a 7-2 or better finish and they make the playoffs I think he will be a serious MVP candidate. He would be a serious MVP candidate right now if the defense didn't let him down in NE and Seattle. A 5-2 record with 19 touchdowns and 6 interceptions (taking out the 2 desperation INTs against NE and SEA) are the same numbers that Wentz has put up in 6 less quarters. RavensTillIDie
I totally blame you for this @Pastor Dillon. JK, but truly a tragic loss for both the Texans and the league as a whole, dude was a bonafide star.

JK, but truly a tragic loss for both the Texans and the league as a whole, dude was a bonafide star. It sucks, but what can you do? If it's true and Watson was getting in a limited set and blew out his knee on a basic RB toss, then it was a matter of time before the ligament went out. Probably during the Colts game, who knows. The season is pretty much done now. Watt, Mercilius and now Watson? That's what the team was banking on, so I don't see Lamar Miller rallying the team on his shoulders. Browns are going to get a high pick for their part in making this happen, and good for them - goodness knows they need it. My only hope now is that the injury isn't significant (no meniscus damage). I know Watson has the work ethic and drive to come back stronger than ever - and he's going to come into a situation where he's the unquestioned starter from the onset. He gets the reps with the 1s, he gets to run the huddle, he gets to rally the team. Three years ago, Carlos Correra broke his ankle in minor league play. Today, he's a champion. I expect no less from Watson.

I would have rather lost that than lost Watson
