Only 1 good thing happened for the Falcons in this whole scenario  us keeping Patterson.  I also fully believe Falcons will trade or move Deion Jones before they ever even think of letting our best LB in Foye leave.   Dean Pees has said himself that Foye is the leader of our defense and the key to our future improvement on defense under him.  The only way i see us letting Foye go is if we go with a guy like Nakobe Dean in round 1.   Before i do that i would trade Deion Jones for a 2nd or 3rd sign Foye and then pick a Dean type player in round 1 to replace Debo.   Although with Mykal walker we might not need to replace Debo after moving him just grab some for depth later.

Now with that said the Falcons taking a WR in round 1 to me outside of taking a QB in round 1 is the worst move we could make.   It would be the same BS the Falcons continue to do over and over again neglecting the O-line, D-line, and Secondary for shiny hood ornaments that continue to get us no where.  The ONLY REASON i was ok with Pitts last year is because he was the #1 player in the draft to me.   So it was a BPA pick above all else and their was no defensive players worthy of that pick.    This year theirs not 1 WR or RB i would even remotely even think about taking in round 1 over any of the D-line, DB's, or O-lineman in round 1.  Hell i would even take a LB in round 1 over a WR.

Here is a legit list of players taken after us i would take over any WR you could give us in round 1

Hamilton - Should be the pick easily he is BPA in the draft and still a need
Ojabo - Edge rusher biggest need in draft
Davis -Worst run defense in league and would demand doubles giving the rest of our line 1 on 1's
Leal
Karlaftis
Boothe
Linderbaum
Green
Dean
Lloyd
Elam

As is sits with what happened for the Falcons under your FA and scenario i would give it a F for the Falcons the only worst scenario would be us taking a QB in round 1 without us trading Ryan for a boat load back.

I agree with most things you said. I just don't think we get anything close to that for Debo. I have a feeling based on his performance especially this year and cap hit which ithink is like 9 or 10m for the team taking his contract for 2022. We get a 5th or at best a 4th for hom

Great signing in Scherff.  I agree we extend Bates, but I would be surprised if we didn't keep BJ Hill.  Love the Dean pick, which would elevate the defense to nasty level.  Don't know if the team would do it, but many fans are locked in on OT and CB for the first round.  If they keep Apple and find an OT in free agency or round 2, sign me up.

Which i think i would be fine with i was just randomly throwing out a trade offer not something i knew we would get for him.  Was more so saying we would likely trade him off before cutting him.

WAY too much for Wilson... -no prediction/s for Deshaun Watson? Rodgers? Not a SINGLE free agent for the Bills? Not sure what's less realistic; Hamilton 13th or Karlaftis 18th. EDIT: Or Garrett Wilson to #30. Oh, and Atlanta would take D-line at #10, not a WR. Certain of this. Unless Stingley is available.

Really high chance we go Hamilton there as well considering he would be far and away BPA in that situation.  According to TF he is drafting heavily toward BPA because Talent trumps need when your so devoid of talent overall on a team.  Which is what he did last year with Pitts.  We still already had Hayden Hurst who is a good TE but took the BPA in the entire draft at the same position anyways.  Said he would target need more in FA and BPA in draft.   Now with that said i could still see going D-line before Hamilton just because how bad that position really is for us.  But i wouldn't be mad at all going #1 player in the entire draft in back to back years coming out.

Well, that's part of what's wrong with this mock. Hamilton doesn't fall to #13 under ANY circumstances, IMHO.

I'm old enough to remember when Derwin James, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Malik Hooker, etc. were all locks to go in the top 10. This forum tends to have amnesia about this kind of stuff.

And spare me with the "this will never happen" talk. These are some greatest hits from previous years:

Quote

[Regarding Julio Jones being traded for a 2nd round pick] Definitely not happening. 1) Julio is worth more. 2) the Falcons have stated he's not being traded this year if at all.

Quote

[Regarding this mocked trade: Eagles trade Carson Wentz and pick 70 to Colts for pick 54 and 2022 second-round pick.] Like the draft, but you're getting some pretty poor trade value for the Eagles.

Quote

cool with aj in the 1st but Hooper will be back with atlanta we are already working on his contract according to dimitroff supposedly. He's the 1 guy i would be extremely surprised if we let go as much as we value him.

Quote

AJ Green is not going anywhere as a free agent.  They will tag him and try to extend him.  The only way he is anywhere other than Cincinnati is by trade.

Quote

[Regarding Dallas taking a WR in a 2020 mock draft] Why use a 1st round pick on another WR when you have them losing a starting DE and starting CB? Plus, they need help across the d-line, so I fail to see the logic on a WR so early.

And so on, and so on. It's why I do it.

All very well and good. THAT having been said, there's NO way, in THIS particular draft, that Hamilton falls to #13. Too great of a talent in a generally weak draft.

Im not that down on this draft i do think certain positions are weak but some are really deep with strength.  I think the front 7 in this draft is really good til like the 4th round and i think WR is very strong in the 1st few rounds as well.   RB, QB, and DB after round 2 are all pretty weak to me though.  Think the top 20 picks in this draft is really nice for sure even with the lack of QB that i don't feel deserve to be top 20.

First off, hat off to you. Lots of time and effort represented by this.

Looking at the very beginning, however…

I don’t see any plausible world where Patrick Surtain gets traded. However, I doubt many anticipated that Jacksonville would trade away C.J. Henderson. Strange things happen in this league, but if Denver is trading for Russell Willson, I assume they would want to have their young star cornerback on their team to compete?

& then Jimmy G… San Francisco got him for a 2nd via trade originally. I know starting caliber QB’s are a dime a dozen.. but fringe starting caliber QB’s are not. If they can get a 1st AND a 2nd, with teams knowing they have no option but to trade him in favor of Lance, hats off to John Lynch & company!

➡️ You have the Patriots re-signing Trent Brown and J.C Jackson. I love those moves, and it’s a real possibility they both stay in New England. A+ for that.

➡️ Allen Robinson signing would be huge. There were soft spoken words of Foxboro during his free agency stint that lead him to Chicago. So the interest is (was) apparent. He will not be getting a Kenny Golladay-like payday in free agency if he was to go to N.E.; if he took a ~two year, $26 million dollar deal~, he would benefit by catching balls from the best QB he has ever sad in a second-year Mac Jones. Sheesh. He’s a good run blocker and route runner, who also brings a big, athletic body to the receiver corps and no doubt would improve the offense. Good signing.

➡️ The Patriots drafting Devin Lloyd would be a big gift for Steve Belichick and Jerod Mayo. That’d only help the versatility and toughness of the defense. Give it to me baby 🤩🤩🤩

Nice job, man. Happy New Year to you. too.
