Ok so if AB signs with another team this year and helps them for a playoff push, (wouldnt be surpised if that happens) Wouldnt everything AB said be null and void.

Yes, because he basically came out and said he can't play and needs surgery on the ankle. It would be a direct contradiction, which is why I would be shocked if he plays again this season.

There is also a consensus among most NFL FO's. Players that quit on their team are backlisted. Given AB's reputation, I think he's got hard time proving otherwise (since he essentially did it in OAK too).

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Buccaneers asked Antonio Brown to "seek mental help" before his release from the team.

Brown, per Rapoport, thought the suggestion was "ridiculous" and "just wanted to be released." Headed into the team's Week 17 game against the Jets, Brown and his agent asked the Bucs to guarantee about $1 million in incentives the wideout was chasing in the season's final stretch -- a request the team denied. Brown was reportedly unhappy with the number of targets he had seen in the first half of the Bucs' game against the Jets before storming off the sideline shirtless.

I'm guessing he forgot there was another game? He had six quarters to reach all his incentives. A feat we would've assured happened. lol

I think that usually the truth lies somewhere in between both sides, in this case probably closer to the Bucs side.  I think that Brown knew that he was hurt and wanted to be force feed the ball like we did last year and wasn't.  He probably knew that there was a good chance that he would be shut down or limited if the Carolina game goes the way it should because of his ankle and headed into the playoffs. At the end of the day to AB it's all about him and his money.

Appearing on HBO's Real Sports, WR Antonio Brown claims the Buccaneers offered him $200,000 to seek mental health treatment.

In the special, his attorney Sean Bursyn claims that: “The offer was Antonio would basically sit on the sidelines, go on some list — and commit himself to some form of intensive mental health treatment. And we were specifically told, in writing, by the general manager (Jason Licht) twice, “Don’t spin this any other way.”
