onejayhawk
While the game means litte since we already have won the division, the Broncos are in division so it means something. I Tennessee stumbles, we might still get the Bye. Game moved to Saturday.https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2022/1/3/22864720/nfl-announces-week-18-schedule-chiefs-broncos-to-play-saturday Edited January 3, 2022 by onejayhawk
Chiefer
If the Texans and DMills can upset the champs, well play the starters. Otherwise I think Reid sits everybody to get a semblance of a bye week.

onejayhawk
Niang done for the season.https://www.yardbarker.com/nfl/articles/chiefs_ol_lucas_niang_out_for_rest_of_season/s1_14819_36878306 Wylie has done fairly well at RT and there is still the possibility of a Kyle Long return. Another possiblity is Thuney with Allegretti taking over LG as he did Sunday. All this presumes that Orlando Brown, Jr can play. J

onejayhawk
Nothing official on OB Jr, but he was a last minute pull against the Bengals. Even if he can play against the Broncos, I am not sure he will play barring another injury. It's much more important to have him for the playoffs. He looked solid Sunday. Entire Oline seemed to be protecting Mahomes well. Run plays seemed to pop.

onejayhawk
Good news. Orlando Brown is practicing. It would not surprise me if we had Thuney at LT in the finale and it would not surprise me if the have OB Jr. Either way, the indications are that OB Jr can play in the first round playoff game. On the other end, Wylie is starting and the depth chart says Kyle Long is the backup. OB Jr's listed backup is Prince Tega-Wanogho. Believe it if you wish. Personally, I think Thuey is the swing OT and we know that Allegretti was the guy playing LG on Sunday. Clyde did not practice. In his case it may be a matter of having a solid situation and not wanting to rush him. it still remains to be seen how much either team will put out for the finale. onejayhawk
The final injury report is clean, with only Niang, who is done for the season, and Clyde being out. OB Jr is full practice. Denver is missing Pat Surtain and both kickers on or COVID list. that seems familiar for some reason. It remains to be seen how the staff approach the game. For that matter, the same applies to the Broncos. This could be a real game, or it could be a preseason-like tune-up. That said, this may be a hint. OC Bieniemy is stressing fundamentals, perhaps hinting at a vanilla game plan and lots of bench play.https://chiefswire.usatoday.com/2022/01/06/kansas-city-chiefs-eric-bieneimy-offense-focused-on-fundamentals/
onejayhawk
Bad weather expected. Not the worst thing that could happen. Mahomes has done well in snow. https://chiefswire.usatoday.com/2022/01/07/nfl-week-18-kansas-city-chiefs-denver-broncos-weather-forecast-snow-rain/ Chris Jones can make some serious bank. He needs one sack to get a contract bonus.https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/chiefs-chris-jones-has-1-25-million-on-the-line-in-week-18-vs-broncos-and-heres-why/
KC_Guy
with Denver's top CBs out the Chiefs' receivers should have some room to run free. We'll see what they make out of it. I'm slightly surprised the tea didn't bring up some guys from the PS ...
