Trevor Penning is trying his damndest to start a fight today at the final senior bowl practice

Certainly gonna be a dude who sets a certain tone wherever he goes

Yes please.

Him, Jenkins, and Borom would be one hell of a start to a top OL.

I would love Penning at LT with Jenkins at LG...it would give us a proper tough, physical and athletic leftside...move Daniels to C and that looks even better...

I personally wouldn't mind keeping Borom at RT instead of moving him inside then sign a good OG in FA to help the youngsters...Alex Cappa makes sense in this scheme.

I'm on board for all three to fight for their spots and the one who loses to kick in at OG. I'm a huge fan of Jenkins so I think he can be a top OT, I think I would keep Jenkins at RT and move Borom inside but as long as all three are on the field I'm going to be content.

Cappa would be a good pick up. Would let Whitehair slide into C and then potentially be replaced in another season.

I'm a big fan of Jenkins as well and think he could be a really good tackle for us but I think he could be a truly elite guard...keeping pressure out of Fields' face would be massive for his development because when you watch the throws where he has a clean pocket he is truly a surgeon but there.

The reports from the senior bowl on Faalele-OT haven't been super encouraging.... He's been getting crushed by speed because of a technique thing he was taught at Minnesota, and he's looking like he'd need some work to retrain.

One guy not at the Senior Bowl, who I was looking at for a 3rd rounder, but recent draft hype has him potentially in consideration for even an early first rounder if he tests well at the combine is Tyler Smith -OT  Tulsa ...... Good target to set a tone that has a good shot of being there @ 39.

Guy has some of the most comically "mean" tape I've seen, in the same vein as Tevin Jenkins' was  (He's the LT in the clips)

EDIT: Links are showing an error but I can still click on them and see the clips from my end, hollar if they don't work on yours.

(repeat of one of the above clips from a diff angle)

and lastly

The more I watch of Trevor Penning the more I doubt he gets out the 1st round...for me right now our top two realistic options on the OL are Zion Johnson if we want a plug and play OG or Bernhard Raimann if we want a developmental OT with a ton of LT traits...especially in a ZBS.

Zion makes sense for sure. He’s been playing some C at the Senior Bowl too. FA will tell us if he’s a possibility IMO. If we sign 2 starting IOL in FA he’s probably not coming our way. 39 should be a great spot to add a high upside WR too. A small trade down would make a lot of sense too.

If his workouts rival the Senior Bowl performance, it'll be tough for him to make it to 39. I hope I'm wrong but he looks like a damn good player

After listening to Poles I am thinking we might move down and target a few OL at the end of the 2nd or 3rd round.

WR is also lookinga bit deeper than I was initially expecting as well, and there should be some quality prospects in the 4th, maybe even the 5th depending how the boards shake out.. I'd almost want a trade down or two early, followed by a trade up from the latter picks.... Go from just 2 picks in the top 4 rounds to about 4.

I'm super intrigued by what I've been seeing from Calvin Austin at the senior Bowl, even if he's Tarik Cohen sized... Guy has just been uncover able.

There were multiple options for which DT "won" the week at the Senior Bowl. Travis Jones bullied everyone. Devonte Wyatt was tough to block.

But I had to go with Perrion Winfrey - he was too dominant. And he's continuing that momentum in today's game.

If we could fill some other needs in FA I would love to pick up Winfrey in the draft...he is the perfect UT fit for this D.

Im always happy to put a projected OT with LT traits at OG too. OGs are playing in space and single blocking high end athletes more now than ever.

Starting to look at some more scheme specific talents and if we want to keep Roquan at MLB and don't want to sign a WLB in FA long term then James Houston from Jackson State...6-0" 225lbs played as a rush LB for State and had 70 tackles including 24.5 TFL and 16.5 Sacks as well as 7 FFs...dude is fast and aggressive and if he can drop into coverage could be the perfect run and hit LB to develop...
