Raiders Offense

Foundational pieces that slot in as starters next season, imo: Carr, Jacobs, Ingold, Renfrow, Waller, Miller, James. That's 7 players which isn't bad but we could use 2 WR, potentially another RB depending on Drake's health, and upgrades at both guard spots and RT.

Good will probably be bare minimum serviceable.  An upgrade over how Simpson is playing rn. Leatherwood likely will be in the mix (bleh) , but I will admit he could take a step with real coaching/an offseason.  1 guard and 1 OT would be nice, but I reckon we only sign/draft one.

WR I agree I think 1 in FA, 1 in the draft. Richard looks good so RB is less of a need for me, but I understand it.

The way I see our O going forward:

  • QB - Solid veteran. Likely enticing to a HC looking to win now, but can easily trade him if that's his preference.
  • RB - Another solid veteran in. Jacobs. Not a top 10 RB but a capable of topping 1,000 yards every season. Lacks consistent gamebreaking ability but by no means is a need. Drake is a nice COP back if he comes back 100%. Richard is a great 3rd down/blocking back. Might want to bring in another young RB to compete.
  • FB - If healthy and retained Ingold is a top 5 FB. Not a need.
  • WR - Renfrow is a star slot guy who is better as a WR2 than THE guy imo. Zay played well to finish off the regular season and should be brought back as a depth WR. We are lacking a true speed #1 WR (F U Ruggs) and more depth. I'd love to bring in a big time vet and draft another super speed option.
  • TE - Top 3 TE if healthy and is happy with his current pay. Moreau was inconsistent but has ability too. Not a need unless you want to upgrade TE3.
  • LT - Good young LT locked up long-term. Not an issue.
  • LG - Simpson is meh. Incognito is done too imo. Bring in a vet and/or draft. early.
  • C - James' play sure improved as the year went on. May actually have something here.
  • RG - Likely a massive need, but may want to see if Leatherwood can progress. Bring in a vet and/or draft. early.
  • RT - Massive need. Bring in a vet and/or draft. early.

The fact we made the playoffs I have a hard time seeing us completely blow up the foundation on O. However we need 3-4 guys brought in on the trenches alone and a couple WR's. That is if we keep Carr too.

My ideal outcome for this off-season:

• Trade a 3rd/5th to the Falcons for Calvin Ridley

• Sign MSV to a 1 yr/$5M prove it deal (GB is in cap hell so he'll likely walk)

• Sign Connor Williams to slide in at LG

• Sign Morgan Moses to slide in at RT

• Bring back Zay Jones, Tyron Johnson, Nick Martin, Jalen Richard, and Brandon Parker assuming their deals are reasonable

• Draft someone like Tyler Smith who can play all across the OL in round 4

That leaves us with:

RB - Jacobs / Drake (ideally healthy) / Richard (made big plays down the stretch)

WR - Calvin Ridley (true #1 WR) / Renfrow (elite slot WR) / MSV (one of the better deep threat WR's in the league)

WR - Bryan Edwards (has flashed and can play if needed) / Zay Jones (same as Bryan / Tyron Johnson (flashed in the past has special teams value)

OL: Miller - Williams - James - Leatherwood - Moses

Backups: Good (can play LG/RG/RT), Parker (swing tackle), Martin (backup C), Smith (G/T depth)

Ideally Leatherwood takes a leap and becomes a starting caliber player for us but having Good and Smith would provide good depth behind him if he cannot.

Don't be this guy. One of the worst cancers on twitter. And if he's a poster here (I doubt it), please don't post here.

Everyone is so down on Jacobs but it's like bruh...

Year 1 (13 games): 262 touches, 1,316 total yards, 7 TD

Year 2 (15 games): 306 touches, 1,303 yards, 12 TD

Year 3 (15 games): 271 touches, 1,220 yards, 9 TD

Would you pay him though ? What kind of contract could he ask for comp wise genuinely curious

I wouldn't pay him top of the market. We'll see, but the good news is that he'll get a chance on a better team next year to show us what kind of back he is. If he plays well you extend him.

Here's the question:

Would Jacobs block you from exploring Ronald Jones or Marlon Mack?

I think this sums it up nicely...

  • Right Tackle
  • Left Guard
  • Speedster / Deep threat WR
  • Contested catch WR

RB can be filled easily enough, would actually still like to see what Ragas could do but hey-ho.
