Did... did we get the timing of a contract signing right for once?

He jumped from very good to elite this year, IMO. Minimal and mostly understandable drops and increased his production as a focal point.

Well, of course he had his best year statistic wise. He has put up 229 receptions for 2,914 yards and 26 touchdowns in the last 3 years.

He's always been that dude.

I rarely go on record like this but I'd say there's close to a 0% chance we cut Peters. It would leave us way too thin at CB.

Only logical way I see that happening is if EDC pulls off the deal he was trying before the trade deadline and lands Xavien Howard.

I hope you're right. I like Juiceman because he had that dog in him and always want the smoke.

So...essentially no legit cap room this year after tenders/rookies/etc.

Just like every year.

It legit blows my mind that we haven't had a big QB contract on the books since what, 2018ish, and yet year after year we never have any cap room.

It's not like we have a ton of high paid players either. Who on this team has really gotten "the bag"? Stanley, Humphrey, and Andrews?

Just frustrating man.

Brian McFarlane said after the tenders and other signings it will be closer to 8m in cap. Sorry LOL

There's going to be room made though. Humphrey will likely be restructured. I'll do a quick breakdown where money can be saved. .

Marlo Restructure 7m

Villanueva release 6m.

Boykin release is 2.5m

Jackson Extension 4-7m

Powers 2.5m

Oliver 1m

Tavon Young 5.8 (Cut and re-sign maybe)

There's others that could be cut but these are the big ones.

All those cuts would put us roughly at 35 million under the cap. Will they all go? Who knows. Chin up, space can be made easily.

Me too, I'm a big fan and he fits this team's identity. A liability in coverage at times but makes up for it with big plays. He's a solid CB and would be a #1 on some teams. Definitely want that dude back.

If we have more luck with our health at CB this year and/or if we draft a CB fairly high, I could see Peters shifting back and forth between boundary corner and FS in passing situations, which could add a playmaking element to the middle of the field.

Meh. I’m going to chalk Andrews animal improvement more up to the introduction of a route specialist in Keith Williams than Engram, so this move doesn’t concern me.

Though you do hate to see continuity potentially take a hit with a young elite player. So there’s that.

Yeah Andrews is gonna Andrews no matter what.

But I thought Engram had done a really solid job with guys the like Hurst, Boyle, and Tomlinson the past few years. Even Ricard looked comfortable when he was lining up at TE every now and then. Oh well.
