BullsandBroncos
Still lots of money for a guy with no 10 sack seasons and is suspended all the time Edited March 15, 2022 by BullsandBroncos
AnAngryAmerican
The Gregory signing was an interesting move. I love the skillset and the potential but the production hasn’t been there. For someone like Paton, who is cautious and diligent, it’s somewhat out of character to gamble the way he did with this move, very boom or bust from what I see.

He’s out of the NFL’s drug program and the league changed its drug policies. That won’t be an issue again.

However, I think it may be a clue as to what people like Von or Chandler are being offered. The way he structured the contract, as others have mentioned, have kept him pretty safe in that bust scenario. I think what makes me even more curious is, does this potentially tell us that he's going after another young Edge in the draft? Two years is a good amount of time for them to develop especially since they may be a bit raw with where we are picking. This offseason has been fascinating to me
broncosfan_101
Gregory’s only getting what, $28M guaranteed. So essentially it’s a 2-year deal. And even though he’s 30, he’s only played 50 NFL games. Lots of tread left on those tires. Certainly a gamble, but I get it.

This offseason has been fascinating to me Oh I’m sure they’ll draft at least one EDGE, maybe two, to quote Elway, you can never have enough good pass rushers. That’s even more true for a team like ours that’s going to have an explosive offense.
broncosfan_101
Jewell back for $5.5M annually is a bargain. Paton’s doing well here. A Morgan Moses signing would just about wrap up a perfect FA period.

Just a Nit, but 29. 30 on Nov 23 for everyone complaining he was suspended all the time - different circumstances now. wanted Reddick - not sure what he got paid - but happy with Gregory as a solid, all around edge. Just need the RT now. We can pick up a vet slot later on.
broncos67
Gregory is a good signing. Especially considering it's really a 2-year deal, I think it's an appropriate gamble to take. Like bringing back Jewell at that price as well. Paton continues to do a very good job. Also hilarious to see Allbright wrong again on the Chandler Jones thing lol.
germ-x
Love the moves. DJ Jones is a huge signing and single handily can help sure up Denver’s inconsistent run defense. Even at 30 Gregory was the highest upside pass rusher on the market with some untapped potential in there.
thebestever6
I'm loving the moves so far from Landing Russ, to DJ, to Randy Gregory just got to love how aggressive and bold Paton is being, but it's smart high upside deals not the Elway Von restructuring to add scrubs at the end of the career with nothing left to give. I was a little disappointed when Cowboys had Randy Gregory signed at first. I think he's got a ton of tread on the tires and just started flashing his capabilities recently. Very impressive.

So yeah, it’s a two-year deal.
Matts4313
RG is a really good DE who is hampered by extreme bi polar disorder. He said the medicine drs prescribed made him loopy, but weed settled him down. It also ended in a lot of suspensions. Bottom line, I would say 95% loved what RG did when he actually played. He is a freak when it comes to god given abilities. You guys will like this signing.
