I want nothing to do with this guy. Keep Harbaugh away from Fields and the offense.

Hear, hear. If I didn't hate tattoos (on ME, not in general), I'd suggest all of us in this camp get matching ones.

Keep Harbaugh in Michigan. Or, at least, far away from Halas Hall...

the fact their are multiple sources saying how desirable the Bears GM & HC job is viewed as goes to back up the fact we will be the #1 opening out

I think you may be overestimating the desirability. Especially the HC position.

Take a look at what this team has to offer compared to other possible openings around the league. It's possible the Bears are not even a top-5 consideration when it's all said and done --depending on how things shake out of course.

Just starting with the basis below (i know there's more to it than this) JAX, SEA, LVR and DEN look far more attractive than the Bears right now.  NYG and MIA don't look bad either compared to the Bears.  Honestly, only DET and MIN may give some pause and I'm not entirely sure on MIN either.

Color coded to illustrate good, okay, bad.

You believe the Giants & Lions have a QB to build around?...

The only teams that come close to us as a long-term position is the Giants and that is because they have the market of New York & plenty of high draft capital...that said IMO they 100% don't have their QB...they have a poor cap position and if you think the McCaskey's are bad to work for then you haven't heard about the Mara's and how much they interfere with their franchise.

The Jags as always look super intriguing but will continue to flounder until they move city and potentially country...no smart coach is picking them over us or a number of other teams on this list.

Miami doesn’t have a QB and is a coach going to be 100% comfortable being told they are going all in on Watson which will happen at some point?

I think Campbell will get another season in Detroit and even if he doesn’t who wants to go there?

Minnesota is trapped in cap hell and now have nothing to hand their hat on after years of great defence.

Seattle are in trouble since Wilson is getting older and will do anything to get out of there this offseason…I expect him to be a Saint before long.

The Raiders and Broncos would be good teams to walk into right now but do I believe they are better opportunities that us long term? No...

The fact we play where we play...have a new stadium on the way...have a young QB who looks like he will be a superstar when placed in a defence offence goes a long way in convincing people we are the best opening...the guys in the NFL see it the way many of us do.

If Kellen Moore is our next HC signing Michael Gallup is essential...what a great catch he just made for a TD in this Saints game.

I would take a stab at him. Certainly not a block buster signing but he could be a decent complimentary to Mooney and give Fields some height to work with.

He's got 4 years of coaching experience in total:

1 as QB coach, 3 as offensive coordinator under Jason Garrett and Mike McCarthy.

At this point I almost feel like we need someone who has been a head coach before. Even the wunderkids like Sean McVay (9 years coaching experience) and Kyle Shanahan had 9 and 14 years coaching under their belt, respectively, before becoming head coaches.

Matt Nagy had 10 years and he couldn't get it done here.

I think everyone is different...some guys need experience...some guys don't...we won't know if Moore is one of these guys that does or doesn't until he is in a head coaching job...all I will say is I don't want to hire scared...

I would still have him behind McDaniels and equal to Daboll.

I don't either, but I think that's what led us to Trestman...

It's also what led the Rams to McVay...I fully believe there is a little bit of lucky in hiring a head coach in the NFL...I also believe that a good QB can keep a bad coach in a job for a decade and a bad QB can get a good coach sacked...we just need to do what's best for Fields IMO and for me that is Josh McDaniels.

I kind of agree with this.

Kellen Moore is a fantastic offensive coordinator but I'm not sure if he's head coach material just yet.

I don't know...something about him just doesn't give me a strong feeling he'd be the best choice for this team as HC.. I could be way off though.

Personally I'd prefer someone with a bit more experience

@Madmike90For some reason I think Todd Bowles would be an outstanding hire for us here.

Question is: who would he bring in as his OC?

Any names jump out at you? Do we "poach" Ken Dorsey from Buffalo?

Clyde Christensen from Tampa?

Joe Philbin from Dallas?

Pep Hamilton from the Texans?

McVay had 9 years in the league and was a well-regarded offensive genius.

During two other coaching searches I had found myself interested in Josh McDaniels, but he always seems to make himself look like an ******* during the process (backing out from the Indy job as the latest).
