Outside of Belicheck and Carroll, im not recalling a defensive minded coach winning a SB in the last 10 years I think you gotta go back to Tomlin in '08. All the dudes that are consistently in the playoffs/superbowl are offensive guys. Hell, even Taylor, Pederson, etc etc Which one of those did the Bears potentially pass on for Matt Eberflus?

Those all are arguably in the top 10-12 coaches in football. Of those guys, only Vrabel has gotten to the Conference Championship in the last 7 years. I think hed do very well with a good QB

The difference was how it was ref'd. And I want to be very clear, I didnt like the call nor the execution. I am not blaming the refs. What I am saying is that under other conditions, that play *could* have worked. It would have needed a perfect execution by the players and the ref. Neither did awesome. But its not the reason we lost that game, so it doesnt matter. Edited January 27, 2022 by Matts4313

All those coaches listed are widely viewed in the top 10-12 best in the league by most I’d say (although personally I’m kind of out on Pete now). Obviously talent/QB situation plays a role. With no timeouts its an especially horrific call. And then you didnt coach him to immediately hand the ref the ball, even worse. i agree thats not why you lost, but that was a comically embarrassing way to end it, such a letdown. Moore I hope has learned from it..

Im always a guy who wants to win a SB, and it sure looks like finding an offensive coach to pair with your QB is the best bet for that. I get it from the standpoint of coming from the bottom, any success is amazing so take what you can. I think McDermott can do it with Josh Allen, or if Vrabel can find a QB who doesnt give the ball away.

Bruh, I think I was very clear on this. I agree. The execution of that play was only over shadowed by how stupid the call was to begin with. It was all bad. I do want to point out that Moore had basically no playoff experience worth noting either as a coach or player before that game. Doesnt make that call any less worse, but it does put it in perspective. It was a teachable moment. 2 minutes ago, Chiefer said: i agree thats not why you lost, but that was a comically embarrassing way to end it, such a letdown. Moore I hope has learned from it.. Hashtag me too. I have a lot of faith in Moore. You dont just accidently fall into the #1 offense 3 years in a row (when dak is playing, so 2020 gets an asterisks). Now if whoever they hire comes in and does great with Fields, he'll be a HC in a year or two and they'll have to start over. Will be interesting to see Josh Allen and Justin Herbert "start over." Sugashane
Hopefully he gets a good OC. Caldwell, Brady, or O'Connell can move over since he would get playcalling duties. Since my hope for Daboll is over then Ken Dorsey is my next hope. Worked with Newton in his MVP season and has been with Allen in BUF for the last several years.
