ACO
I am really intrigued by this front office overhaul. I feel Giants have plenty talent but the FO was holding them back.

Bradberry is gone, so maybe we invest again in another relatively high pick CB? I really like Jalen Pitre from Baylor. He makes everything look easy. He would probably be available with our first 3rd round pick.

Patricia Traina gave a really nice breakdown of how we could potentially get to the cap number Joe Schoen wants to, and said he will, get to (which is creating $40 million in space for this year). https://www.si.com/nfl/giants/big-blue-plus/shaping-giants-salary-cap-plan-part-2-clearing-space Based on her breakdown, I don't think we can get to that number unless we cut Bradberry. I think he is still a good player, btw. He may just be a cap casualty. Edited February 8, 2022 by minutemancl

The others are no brainer her list.

I agree with letting Bradberry go. He was my favorite player in 2020 but he's fallen off big time and isn't worth the FA price tag.

Plus, he rarely misses time. This whole forum will be screaming next season is Adoree is our CB1 and he can't stay on the damn field. Bradberry's cap number is only so high because of the restructures. I would look to extend him through 2024 to lower his cap number and keep a very reliable CB on the defense. All the noise is that they'll let him go so I'm not suggesting this is what Schoen will do but I would try to keep him around.

Bradberry’s contract voids next season, so I’m not sure if it’s possible to extend, without giving him a brand new contract. Nevertheless, we should weather the storm with him unless he can take a paycut. He’s still a good CB, and we need those for this scheme. By cutting him, we save $12 million this year and eat about $10 million in dead money (which is honestly fine; we have almost no dead money on the books for 2022 right now. It is less than $300,000 right now). His void year in 2023 is only a million. I think we can cut Bradberry and use that money towards signing a replacement and still have money left over. That's why I think the rumors of the Giants being in on JC Jackson this year aren't totally farfetched.

Joel Corry thinks he be close to Lattimore’s 5 year $100M https://heavy.com/sports/new-england-patriots/patriots-cb-j-c-jackson-contract-2022/ We aren’t going to be able to get into a bidding war for him. If we cut Bradberry, it be to sign cheap replacements.

Dan Duggan suggests the Giants may be looking to trade Bradberry. https://theathletic.com/3118912/2022/02/09/giants-gm-joe-schoen-wants-to-create-40-million-in-cap-space-heres-how-he-can-do-it/?force_isolation=true He is a relatively attractive trade chip. You'd get a 28 year old starting, proven corner for just about $13 million. Someone could trade a mid round pick for that.

I don’t subscribe to the athletic, so I cannot read the article, but i could see Raiders (Graham) and Buffalo (Old DC) making a move. We would still be replacing him with 2nd and 3rd tier players in a system that needs a top CB.
