Yeah, he should find himself lucky. 50% on kickoffs...that sucks for touchbacks.

Well that clearly wasn’t my point. Interesting you missed it.

I was addressing the fact that Forbath still has a job. Teams are more and more concerned about field position these days so being able to have a K that kick the ball out of the endzone is an asset. So Forbath should find himself lucky that he still has a job. That was my point. And that was my original reply to Woz.

Ok, would you rather have Blair Walsh who missed a game winning kick in the playoffs but always kicks it to the end zone?

or a kicker who wouldn’t have missed that game winning playoff kick?

Thats my point. If you have a kicker who’s going to be automatic from 50 and in and occasionally will make a kick of over 50 and sometimes kick it into the end zone, you’ll put up with him not always kicking it through the end zone.

Reread Turtle. Frankly, Forbath has made what 9 FG's over 50.

The 57 is an anomoly. Its seems that he is the kind of kicker that kicks better in a Dome. How ironic.

If I could have 2 kickers on a team, I would certainly keep a guy like Forbath for the instance that he is fairly accurate. That is a great trait to have. But, the scary part is, what play do you think the kicker does more often than any during a game?

Kickoffs, Right? So, as he has demonstrated before, I would be more concerned that he is going to pull a groin or hamstring, trying to muscle up a kickoff. Frankly, someone who cannot put the ball into the endzone with a wind up of 10 yards and putting your entire body momentum into kicking the ball that far is puzzling. Especially for a guy who just turned 30.
