I'm going with Tom Brady.

Because as a Jets fan? I can't lie. I always feared Tom Brady on the field (much more) than I did Bill Belichick from the sidelines.

Tom Brady literally gave me Jets nightmares (the night before games) because it just felt like once in a zone he was a machine/robot (and impossible to stop).

Tom Brady put the same type of fear into me as a Jets fan that MJ23 once put into me as a Knicks fan. And I hated them both as players but now looking back; I consider them the two greatest players/leaders/winners of All-Time.

Also. I've never been sold on Bill Belichick (without Tom Brady).

▪︎ Tom Brady All-Time = 278-87 (.761%).

And was able to prove (with Tampa Bay) that he didn't need Bill Belichick to win a Super Bowl Championship (during only his 1st year away from Bill Belichick).

Vs

▪︎ Bill Belichick (without Tom Brady) owns a career losing below .500 record of 72-81 (.470%).

And it's not a small same size either; it's 9.6 years worth of Head Coaching (without Tom Brady).

1.) 1991: 6-10 (Cleveland). No playoffs.

2.) 1992: 7-9 (Cleveland). No playoffs.

3.) 1993: 7-9 (Cleveland). No playoffs.

4.) 1995: 11-5 (Cleveland). 2nd round exit

5.) 1996: 5-11 (Cleveland). No playoffs.

6.) 2000: 5-11 (N.E). No playoffs.

2000: 0-2 (N.E).

• 41-55 overall (and then Tom Brady happened).

7 ) 2008: 11-5 (NE). No playoffs.

2016: 3-1 (N.E).

8.) 2020: 7-9 (N.E). No playoffs.

9.) 2021: 10-7 (N.E). Wildcard exit.

9 Seasons without Tom Brady =

• 3 above .500 seasons (1-2 playoffs).

• 6 below .500 losing years.

• Missed the playoffs 7/9 years.

▪︎With 13 other QBs (not named Tom Brady) Bill Belichick has career losing record of 72-81 (.470%) and only 1-2 in the playoffs without Tom Brady and has never even made it past the 2nd round without Tom Brady despite 13 QBs and 9.6 years worth of examples.

Testaverde (17-15).

Cassel (10-5).

Mac Jones (10-8).

Tomczak (4-4).

Garoppolo (2-0).

Rypien (2-2).

Brissett (1-1).

Hoyer (0-1).

Philcox (2-3).

Zeier (1-3).

Newton (7-8).

Bledsoe (5-13).

Kosar (11-18).

Maybe it's because I'm an NY Jets fan and maybe I'm not seeing things as clearly as you N.E Patriots fan faithful but it's a question of mine that I've always wanted to ask (now 20+ years later).

I personally feel if Bill Belichick hangs around for another 3-5 years in order to pass Don Shula for most career coaching wins but yet fails to win a SB without Tom Brady (GOAT) that'll tarnish and ruin his legacy as an NFL HC who coached 12-14 years without Tom Brady but yet could never win a ring without him (IMO it's SB or bust for Belly).
