Years have to stay cap compliant going forward until the offseason starts

Squire or RT or others, how does the detailed timing in a trade like this work?

  1. The teams come to terms; notify the league office; and Adams' contract is immediately transacted?
  2. Adams goes to Las Vegas and has a physical, and only after he passes does the contract get transacted?
  3. Raiders and Packers have been working on this for a while, and Adams has already taken and passed his physical, so there is no need for further delay?  The Raiders didn't construct the contract offer without having first already executed the physical?
  4. A physical isn't really even a needed step?  The Packers send their complete medical records, and that's sufficient in absence of any yellow flags?
  5. In terms of contingent domino deals the Packers may be making or have already made, those presumably can't be formally submitted to the league until Davante's deal is finalized and approved by Raiders' medical and by league office?  Does that mean Gute will also refrain from announcing any such deals?  Or will those not be officially reported, but between player, agent, Gute himself, or unnamed "source", will those still be publicized as they happen?

He needs to pass the physical to be finalized, but since he lives in LV I wouldn't be surprised to see this get finalized today. At that point the Packers can begin finalizing the Douglas deal and any others that they may have a handshake deal with. This should move quickly.

Wish list:

Julio or Aj Green - big bodied vet savvy receiver who can share jokes with Arod + Julio played in the Shanny system
Hooper - no brainer good TE we wanted him before let's do this
JuJu or Landry - both good blockers and for the short stuff
MVS or Fuller or Cooks - stretch the field types, I think MVS has come on along and is an ascending player and would prefer him over the other two
Cole Beasely - Just for jokes, we wanted him before, another no-vaxer to keep Rodgers company

And the guys that have been cut:

Julio, Hooper, Landry and Cole - I like the look of that!!!

Whst about trading for DK? On a rookie 2nd round contract for a team that’s selling

Mentioned this last night.......it seems DK's strong suit is running deep patterns.
Thowing deep passes is no longer AR's strong suit. He can still do it mind you....but not with the prevalence of RW.

Obviously there could be a lot of team speak in what Sando is hearing, but it doesn't make as much sense for the Seahawks to ditch Metcalf.

Gute likes big athletic WRs and made a point bringing them in over the last few years. If he's gonna dip into FA or make a trade it will be for a big WR. Wouldn't write off Metcalf as a trade candidate but I think he will be all in trying to get MVS back.

Metcalf gives me the Jermichael Finley vibe.  Saw some twitter "feud" last year (year before?) where he took umbrage with commentary from a HOF former player, saying that player (forget who) was garbage, etc.  Kind of like how Brandon Marshall years ago dismissed Sterling Sharpe before going back and apologizing after reviewing the tape.  The point being, DK is so full of himself already--at least his public persona is via twitter--that I can see that being a reason to not be involved for any draft pick higher than a 3.

However, all the other names being thrown around on the board (except JuJu) are for vet WRs who are just as or almost as old as Davante.  Most are washed.  MVS & picks are probably the best option.

DK doesn’t seem like the type of WR Aaron would like. Id still like to try and make it work.

To be fair, that HoF player was Shannon Sharpe who is no stranger to getting into it with NFL players, NBA players, etc.

Might be time to roll the dice on AJ Green. He had a good bounce-back year, so maybe past the health issues.

I’m surprised someone hasn’t already taken a shot at him. Maybe he’s holding out for All-Pro money.

He has already helped us win one game so yeah bring him on!
