I didn't want to initially post this b/c it's kind of nothing at this point but there's really no news around this time of the year so it seems like we're ok to discuss this...... right?

I don't really see any need for this.

I do and I don't. In the regular season, it really doesn't matter to me. In the postseason though, I absolutely want to see it. As a result of that, if it's an "all or nothing" type deal, I will be 100% in favor.

I say keep regular season the same, but I wouldn't mind it for the playoffs

This is where I am at. And not even because I think the rule is unfair. I am just tired of it becoming a media circus when the team that gets the ball first wins.

I feel like this is necessary, even after the Bengals won in OT in the AFCCG.  It definitely had a huge hand in the divisional round.  KC had the ball two straight possessions.  Maybe Atlanta would have won the coin flip and scored too.  Instead they watched Brady score two straight times without getting the ball to answer.

I'll take it a step further.  Maybe the regular season OT needs a slight tweak too.  Instead of changing the r]ules, i could get behind a change in standings.  I suggest using the hockey model, in that ties count the same as OT losses.  No need to over-strategize about ties being more advantageous than taking a few risks to win.  That Chargers_raiders week 17 looks completely different in that setup.

I think its stupid to extend OT all bc the opposing defense couldnt do their job and stop the opposing offense. So now that the opposing offense cant be stopped the other team offense will automatically get an turn.

What is going to happen if the OT rules change is yes the team that wins the coin toss will score a TD then the other team will get the ball. That team will go down and score a TD too. The other team will get the ball back and one of their key players will get hurt in the process of them winning on a FG and then that team will advance in the next round of the playoffs without that key player and it will hurt them not just without that player but having played a longer OT so their body will be fatigue as the next playoff game goes along.

The NFL shouldnt want any game to last longer than it already does bc it increases the chance of injury and wear and tear and fatigue for the next game as that game goes along. So again I think extending the OT is stupid especially in the playoffs. Teams have to be at their best when their best is required and they shouldnt rely on getting the ball back in OT bc they couldnt do their job on defense to make a stop.

Just take another halftime to catch yourself breath and put another 15 minutes on the clock. That’s it.

If neither team can hold a lead after that, both teams get a L.
