DaPatsKid98
Rare in-division trade, but Mac has his #1. Love the duo of Parker and Kendrick Bourne. Finally 👏

DaPatsKid98
Parker had 1,202 receiving yards in 2019. Oft-injured, he finished with 40 receptions for 515 yards in 10 games last season. https://www.draftsharks.com/fantasy/injury-history/devante-parker/7210 He’s had issues with both hammy’s recently, among other issues in his career that have led to him missing 23 games in his career. That’s alarming, but what do we have to lose? BB badly needed to make a move at wide receiver, and he pulled the trigger. Let’s hope he can stay on the field in 2022. DaPatsKid98
Parker is set to receive $5.65 million next season, and $5.7 million in 2023, per Mike Reiss. Our wide receiver core heading into the draft now sits as… Parker, Kendrick Bourne, Nelson Agholor, Jakobi Meyers, N’Keal Harry, Ty Montgomery, Kristian Wilkerson, and Malcolm Perry…
Crimmage
Cheap deal.. fair value for both teams imo. For the patriots it makes sense because they could use more picks this draft and next year they will basically get that 3rd back with the JC comp pick. Miami didn't need him and this was obviously the best deal they could find. They need to clear cap space to make this move though, right? Does that mean Agholor is getting traded somewhere? Or we could see some restructures / extensions. Given his injury history I still want someone early in the draft.. but it can be someone a bit more developmental. Give me Christian Watson/ Alec Pierce in the 2nd, he can either redshirt if Parker is amazing or get some time playing whenever he gets injured. We talking freak injuries? Recurring nagging injuries? or is he soft and only ever wants to play if he feels 1000%?

Crimmage
I believe his amazing season was under Chad O'Shea in 2019.. so maybe he really does play well in the Patriots system and that's why they made the move to get him. I'm sure they used that tape a good deal while making this decision. Another item of note: This really opens them up to go BPA throughout the draft, they don't have amazing players at every position but they've done a good job of filling major needs with cheap contracts. The only major need is at LG, and they can get a day 1 starter RD3-5 given how good they have been drafting the position. Zion Johnson of Boston College just got so much more appealing to me after this trade. Sure, we could get good value later in the draft like we usually do when we hit the trenches.. but that man is an animal. Andrew Booth was my top choice, but with his core injury, I’m not so sure we select him. Kaiir Elam will be ready to go from the jump and should excel playing man coverage in the NFL, which seems to be the way our defense is gonna be molded. We also have the opportunity to hit the EDGE spot if BB desires. David Ojabo could be in play if we trade down to the 30~ range. Ultimately, I think the selection at 21 is now leaning hard towards offensive line. Tyler Linderbaum from Iowa, Trevor Penning from Northern Iowa, dare I say Tyler Smith from Tulsa possibly… and the guy who has to be the odds on favorite, Zion Johnson are the prospects we should keep an eye on now, as we sit just over 3 weeks away from the draft. DaPatsKid98
This is what BB had to say on Parker before the 2020 season started. Lots of praise
Soko
Largely going to be a health thing. Parker’s virtually never been healthy. Don’t hate the deal for either team, but don’t really love it either. If I’m Miami, I’d want picks in this draft. If I’m NE, I’m not confident this guy stays healthy at all. Grab another receiver in the draft and I think the 2022 WR room can be in solid shape, though. Elam is fast, has a #1 CB attitude... but all the reports are that he doesn't do well with cuts, if that's the case Waddle / Hill / Diggs will destroy him. I'll pass on him given that there is no way of drafting him outside of the 1st. I'd rather trade down / add a pass rusher to help the secondary instead. I'd rather go McCollum / Armour-Davis / Alontae Taylor / Daxton Hill / Nick Cross / Cam Taylor-Britt / Lewis Cine / Markquese Bell / JT Woods in rounds 2-5 if you want a DB Linderbaum is only a C, so they won't consider him.. they want bigger guys at G. If you want a Logan Mankins type, look into Cole Strange.. he has that same edge to him.. at a 3rd round cost. You could trade back from 21.. pick up an extra 3rd and get Strange for "free" instead of picking Johnson at 21. If they draft a G in the first round I will cry, this team has wayyyyy too many needs to draft a guard in the first round when you can get one on day 3 for pennies. If you are going to spend a 1st, you've got to spend it on a LT. Penning seems very much like the type of guy they will love given his athleticism, I wouldn't be surprised if they pick Penning at 21, trade Wynn for a day 3 pick then draft their starting LG in the 4th. They could move Brown to LT for 1yr and Penning at RT so they don't have an all rookie left side of the line. But back to Parker, I first loved this trade but my love is contingent on them still adding speed in the draft. They increased the floor of the offense but diminish the ceiling ( especially if Agholor is gone). You will have the SLOWEST receivers in the AFC East.. maybe the entire AFC. You absolutely need to add speed to this offense or you'll have the entire defense in the box, surviving off contested catches. This could potentially work if they move Agholor to the slot.. but not sure if they actually do that. Slade Bolden is almost a guarantee to end up on the roster ( another quick not fast guy).. so we need one of these guys to be drafted or my confidence in the offense diminishes greatly: Christian Watson, Alec Pierce, Tyquan Thorton, George Pickens, Bo Melton, Calvin Austin, Wan'dale Robinson, Jalen Tolbert, Khalil Shakur, Skyy Moore
