This isn't worth much comment, but it needs to be mentioned. Shady McCcoy does not like Eric Bieniemy much.

There's definitely fire from all the smoke of him not getting a HC job yet. I think EB can rub people the wrong way. I hope he gets a job just so he can kick the elephant out of the room but I wouldn't be surprised if he loses a locker room quick if he doesn't figure out how to be more personable.

Today, 1 June 2022, is a significant day in the offseason. It's the last day to tender restricted free agents. Two examples would be Jody Fortson who was tendered and Marcus Kemp who has not been tendered.

Tomorrow, 2 June 2022, is also an important day. Players designated post 1 June cuts will come off the books. While the Chiefs do not ahve any players so designated, several other team will. A group of newly available free agents will form.

Next week the team will wrap OTAs and the following week, 14 June  -  16 June, will be mini-camp.

15 June 2022 is the final day to withdraw RFA offers. Again, the Chiefs do not appear to be directly affected but players may become available.

Expect the announcement of training camp dates and times at some point this month.

Here is a recap of several aricles from this week. You know things are slow when a golf match gets a featured article.

Sort of related, the Chiefs hired a new number cruncher. there was an opening because Krithi Chandrakasan was hired by the Bears. Our new analyst is Marc Richards who made waves as a passing game analyst.

I don't want to pay Brown. I don't think he's worth it.

We can disagree on this.  He’s the best LT we’ve had in a while, clearly the best in the team.  He improved significantly through the season.  He’s not perfect, but Pat sometimes makes the job pretty hard for linemen too when he “creates.”  If we got anything less than we gave up for him it would be an embarrassment.  I think he’s here for the long haul.

I don't mind resigning him I just don't want it to be some market setting contract but it seems like these days nobody will settle for less than that. Having said that, if we re-sign him (this year) to whatever that would be I'm sure next year it'll be a bargain the way the cap is moving.

Brandon Flowers signs a one day contract to retire as a Chief. He is one of the final remnants of the 2008 class that included Jamaal Charles. Only Brandon Carr was still active in 2020.

It was one of the top ten classes of the decade. The Total AV was 264. For comparison, the AV of the Rodney Hudson, Justin Houston draft is 179. The Dontari Poe draft never topped 100.

Two years later we won the division for the first time since Marcus Allen.

One of my All time favorites
