Change of scenery I bet will help him more than anything. That entire Colts team seems to be toxic in the way they're handling things (just as an outsiders prospective).

This feels like a Belicheck move. Sign him to a two year vet minimum deal and IR him this season, let him get a hold of film and the playbook, then let him loose next season...

Past his prime for sure, but he's definitely an upgrade for almost anyone in this league. I bet he signs cheap with a contender real quick.

The Colts waived him hoping that someone would claim him so they can eleviate the salary cap of some of his contract. But realistically any new team would have to cough up approx $4.52 million.

Knowing that he is having season ending surgery means no one is going to claim him and he probably wouldn’t pass a physical anyways.

Even though Vontae Davis will undergo groin surgery that it is expected to sideline him six to eight weeks, a handful of teams, including two involved in the playoff chase, already have reached out and expressed interest in signing the former Indianapolis Colts cornerback with the hope he can contribute in the playoffs, a source told ESPN.
