Update: Kelvin Joseph passenger in drive by killing.

Regarding how this affects the team: It probably doesnt short term. He got very little playtime last year. In camp he was outplayed by the other rookie Nashon Wright. Kelvin was a project due to him being kicked off 2 college teams and being inexperienced. As for why he was kicked off the teams, it was mostly his attitude towards hard work. People thought he was lazy and not committed.... Nothing suggested murderer.

My personal opinion: I said last year that he was the only pick I have hated in years. Anyone who calls themselves 'Bossman Fat' is an idiot. That said, being an idiot doesnt make you a killer. Like all legal matters, we need to wait for more information.

Sad story, I’ll definitely reserve judgement till more comes out but terribly sad a man lost his life over something seemingly very petty in hindsight and for little reason.

In regards to the Cowboys how does their CB depth with or without Joseph. I seem to only be able to recall Diggs, Brown and Wright on their depth chart. Likely an area that will be addressed in the draft? Most mocks I see have them taking OL for obvious reasons, or WR for less clear reasons.

Diggs and Anthony Brown are the starters, Jordan Lewis in the slot.

Wright and Kelvin were the 2nd string L/R CB

Maybe. We doubled up last year with the idea of developing both of them over a couple years. Wright appeared to be ahead of Joseph by most reports, but its not like anyone took a real lead in that race.

Chances are we look at CB in the mid rounds if we believe this case has merit (I do think it does).

WR because we lost 2 guys who played a lot of snaps and re-signed a dude with a torn ACL. Going WR makes a lot of sense for us to replenish depth. We have a clear #1 and 2, but after that it gets real dicey.

Gotcha, without looking at your depth chart in a while I had assumed you guys had some depth at WR behind CeeDee and Gallup. OL still strikes me as a more dire need, give Dak some time and lean into Zeke/Pollard. With the depth at WR in this draft might benefit them to wait and double dip at WR like they did at CB last year.

I had forgotten about Lewis as well in your CB room. So no drastic holes there.

I'll just say that it is looking like the Cowboys will have a vacancy to fill.

He was basically the 5th corner last year so not a huge hole to fill luckily.

The Cowboys had depth at WR before they decided to be dumb and trade away Amari Cooper for peanuts. They then proceeded to re-sign Gallup who won't be avaialble untl late October/early November and let Cedrick Wilson walk. Now they almost have to address WR in the first two rounds, though they have holes at several other areas to address.

For the record, D82 and I disagree strongly on this stance. I do wish we had gotten at least a 4th, hopefully a 3rd, for Cooper. But I wanted him off the team (along with Zeke).

The last report on Gallup was he will be ready by September.

And I think Cedrick Wilson over played his ability as a gadget guy who didnt get schemed for. Those guys are valuable, but I dunno if they are $7m/yr valuable. Plus he will get us a comp pick.

I still want to go FA for WR's after June 1 (for comp pick purposes). OBJ said a long time ago he wanted to play with Dak... Just saying.

Going to be hard to figure out who the shooter was without help from somebody inside the vehicle or a witness that saw into the vehicle.

If there was a group of them they are screwed. One or two will implode under questioning.

The initial speculation/reports/rumors are that there were 6 people in the Suburban, 2 shooters, but Kelvin wasnt one of them.

People are guessing he is going to be charged as an accessory and try to plea out. He already has an attorney working on it.
