Big T
Hot: Hutch, Garner, Stingley, Walker, Johnson, Williams, Jurgenson and Lindy talk of the big uglies have cooled down, but it's not a reflection on where they will be drafted. Talk of QB's ascending (take your pick). WR talk has cooled Players who's value has dropped London would not run, Thibs tape shows he takes plays off, and is not considered a top pick by many (don't ask me who), besides other flaws in his game and character issues like passion for the game. Hot to move up, Carolina, Atlanta, Pitt or trade for a QB, Washington. Teams with the potential to move down any in the top 5. Now a revamp of my mock, unless the Jets move down from 4 or 10 1.Jermaine Johnson DE (Still a Sauce fan) 1A Trevor Penning OT (Johnson or K man and I'm good) 2 Christian Watson WR (big fan, could go round 1) 2A Lewis Cine S (need) 3. Alec Pierce WR (value pick but could see a LB here as well) 4. Troy Anderson LB (steal drafted here or could see a WR) 4A Pierre Strong RB (Love this guy) 5 Zachary Carter DT (if he's here great pick up) 5A Darion Beavers LB (ST/LB need)
jetfuel34
Carolina can't move up. They have no draft capital. They have like pick 6th then 137. Carolina only has 2 choices and it is stay there and pick your QB or move down. I think they will not get a trade partner and stay and pick either Willis or Pickett. One will get picked in the top 5 and they will take the other.
KimuraGod
JJ at #4 and Penning at #10 would be horrible. I don’t mind JJ at #10 but not #4.
Big T
Okay, I just want to ask a question. We see the big board, we see players that should go 1-32 in round 1. But the real question is this regardless of position who are the best players, top players. If were honest we say not WR, or DE, but we have to consider CB in Sauce, S in Hamilton, both Ekwonu and Neal perhaps RB Hall and although it is a deep WR and DE end class and talented and worthy of 1st round status. I think there are guys at the WR position who will be taken in rounds 2-3 who will wind up being just as good as players in round 1. Same can be said of OLB/DE in rounds 2-3. So if your the Jets or any other team for that matter, do you take a player according to need or draft the top players regardless of position ? I say top players, you can address needs later in the draft. But if I have a guy like Zack Wilson and a player like Mahomes is available do I pass on Mahomes? NO! The same can be said of any position. So I can see the Jets drafting a Sauce or Hamilton, or Ekwonu or Neal and waiting to draft a WR/DE. Do the Jets pass on a guy like ILB which is a need and have 2 top ILB available at pick 10? I don't think you pass on these guys. So if the Jets draft Ekwonu and then Dean at ILB, I'm okay with it. I don't want the Jets to draft guys because it fills a certain position. Cb is not a dying need, but if you can grab a shutdown CB why pass on the guy especially in light of the fact that everyone on the team is a rental or unproven going forward. Hamilton according to Salah is a Unicorn, why would you pass on a guy who is so versatile and could be used all over the field? Two guys who with no doubt in my mind would or will be Pro Bowl type players. So it comes down for me, not to draft a guy because of need but is he a difference maker at his position. I named 5, and I like J.J. and Kman neither of whom will ever live up to the 5 I mentioned. JMO.

Look at Panthers history here... LT has been a freaking turnstile for nearly 10 years.... weakest part of the Panthers for nearly a decade. No way do they move down unless they're both gone.
