The Giants traded the #5 and #7 pick for the #1 pick to draft a DE?!  With all the holes on this team and the questions at QB you believe the Giants new GM think they are just a DE away from being good?

I believe they'll do anything to get a pass rushing star like Hutchinson on the team.

A 6'6" 265 Award winning monster & Heisman runner up is what that Giants defense needs.

Their not taking a QB at 5 or 7 & are sticking with Jones this yr.

Plus, they signed QB Tyrod Taylor to compete for the Job.

Their not taking a QB at 5 or 7, so he can sit on the bench as the 3rd stringer.

But they also can't hope that Hutchinson, Thibodeaux or Travon Walker make it to 5 either.

So they trade up & get the guy they want.

little do they know that their trade up, pushes Travon Walker to #9 to Seattle.

crazy times... 😁

Yea, the Giants pick at #5.

If they lose out on pass rushing studs in Hutchinson, Thibodeaux & Travon Walker?

Then lose out on OL in Neal? They're screwed.

Their 2 biggest needs is a pass rusher & an O-line. (Even though they have lots of needs)

They would have to trade down.

because losing out on the top pass rushing DE's & O-Lineman in the draft would be devastating to them, while sitting @#5.

How do you avoid that?

Trade up to #1 & get your guy. The best of the best!

& Pick up an extra 3rd while doing it.

Ikem Ekwonu

Evan Neal

Kayvon Thibodeaux

Travon Walker

Aidan Hutchinson

That's 5 guys. They're already guaranteed a top OL or EDGE.

Add in Sauce Gardner and Malik Willis also likely going top 6, they should be able to easily get 2 of those 5 guys.

Trash mock

It most likely is...

But I'm expecting a lot of movement/trades come draft day.

Like the Giants are shopping Toney.

The Niners are shopping Deebo & Garapolo.

The Browns are shopping Mayfield.

Kyler Murray isn't happy with his contract & possibly wants new deal, or traded.

And these are just the players we know about.

There's almost always some under the radar moves that happen this time of year.

Point is...don't expect the draft to be boring, or uneventful.

None of us know exactly what will happen, but to assume the draft will play out in it's current order & format?

Would be very naive.

The mock isn't trash just cause of all the trades.

Although those are pretty bad.

Kyler Murray just posted these on Twitter a couple days ago.

Arizona remembers what it was like before Murray. A deal will likely get done.

Kyler was just posturing for a new deal and the tactic seemed silly to me, but it was just that.

TRADE w/Washington #16, #19 for #11 & #47 2nd rounder)Selection: CB Derek Stingley Jr.

If you think Washington is getting back two first rounders from the Saints for just moving up 5 spots in this draft where the value of trade ups is gonna be lower than most drafts.... I don't know what to tell you. You're smoking crack or you're just being delusional cause that's what you want to happen. I can't blame you for the latter cause you we all know you are a homer, but it's not happening. I don't care that you threw in your 2nd rounder. Saints are looking to grab a tackle and a receiver most likely by all accounts. Stingley solves neither of those. Maybe Washington can get a 3rd rounder and change or maybe a 2nd rounder for trading down if they are lucky and move down enough spots, but you aren't getting a trade like you proposed.

Also, I think Stingley isn't falling out of the top 10. If you pay attention to draft buzz you will have heard from different sources about how his stock has gone up lately cause of what teams learned about him playing on the injured foot this year and him excelling in interviews.

1)New York Giants (from Chicago Bears & TRADE w/Jacksonville #1 overall & #65 3rd round pick) Selection: DE Aidan Hutchinson

This isn't happening either. You're just trying to hurt the Giants cause that's what you want as a Washington fan. That's lame.

Jacksonville would of course trade down for #5 and #7 in a heart beat if they could, but in a draft class with no clear cut top QB or even clear cut top position player the Giants would be stupid to give up 2 picks in the top 7 just to jump up 4 spots for Aidan Hutchinson who has a high floor, but not the highest of ceilings. Ridiculous proposition for NY.

2) Detroit Lions--Selection: Edge Kayvon Thibodeaux

From everything I've heard Detroit isn't interested in Kayvon whatsoever. He's not a Dan Campbell type of guy.

If they were to go with an EDGE at 2 that isn't Hutchinson, then it is more than likely Travon Walker.

Cross would be a RG for us. Meh.

The post above me is just another example of how bad this mock is. Charles Cross is not a guy you want to kick into guard.

He doesn't have that versatility like Neal or Ekwonu. He's tackle only.

3) Houston Texans--Selection OT Evan Neal

I won't say this is a terrible pick, cause a lot of people make it and I'd like it for Houston.

However they have Tunsil and Howard at tackle already. They tried moving Tytus Howard into guard during last season and he really struggled there and was solid when they put him back at RT. I'm not a big Howard guy, but I don't think tackle is as likely for Houston as some people make it out to be.

Houston has done a TON of work on Sauce, Stingley and the corners. Doesn't mean they have to take Sauce at 3, but I think they are strongly considering it.

Quote

13) Houston Texans (from Cleveland Browns)--Selection: CB Trent McDuffie

You did have the Texans taking a corner at 13, but I don't think McDuffie is one of their top guys. They didn't bring him in for a 30 visit like they did Gardner, Stingley, Elam, and Woolen. They are looking for bigger/longer corners than what McDuffie presents.

Quote

17) Los Angeles Chargers--Selection OC Tyler Linderbaum

Nobody has Linderbaum going this high anymore. I laughed when people were mocking him to the Giants at 7 months ago like that was a realistic possibility. Linderbaum is a great prospect, but he's zone and center only prospect at a devalued position (look at Creed Humphrey falling to the 3rd last year). A lot of mocks and buzz from insiders have Linderbaum possibly falling out of the 1st all together. Maybe he goes somewhere in the mid 20s or Cincy at 31, but his stock has dipped dramatically from earlier in the process.

Quote

21) New England Patriots--Selection LB Nakobe Dean

I could see the Patriots taking a LB, but Dean's Georgia teammate Quay Walker is more in the mold of what Belichick would want for a Hightower successor since you already had Devin Lloyd off the board. Not sure the Pats go LB in the 1st, but if they do its probably not gonna be Dean.

Quote

15) Philadelphia Eagles (from Miami Dolphins)--Selection: OG Kenyon Green

Quote

18) Philadelphia Eagles (from New Orleans Saints)--Selection: WR Chris Olave

Your Eagles picks are laughably bad. We aren't taking a guard with our first pick. That is ludicrous. Olave isn't a great fit either.

Quote

23) Arizona Cardinals--Selection: Edge David Ojabo

Cardinals really need an EDGE with the departure of Chandler Jones, but you think they'll be cool just taking a redshirt year when there was Zion Johnson who could be a big help that could step in day 1 and contribute? I don't see it.

Of course no one knows what will happen with 100% certainty, but if you knew these teams better and what is being said by draft insiders you would be able to make a better mock than this. Not every pick was bad. I can point to some that I like, but overall this mock is a mess.

Not only that, the Saints are set with 3 starters at CB and decent depth, they also have glaring holes at WR and OT.
If they trade up, its not going to be for a CB (unless one of their current CBs is traded). Then he targeted 2 WRs with the picks the Saints traded away 😆

A classic Aceinthe draft. Completely outrageous and almost certainly sure to NOT happen events happening early.

Yes, my mock is outrageous. I don't even believe it myself. Lol

But somebody has to be devil's advocate on these mocks. They all look like carbon copies of each other. (With trades or no trades)

There are 8 Teams with x2 first round draft picks.

This Mock doesn't have the "blue" chip prospects that would intice more teams to move up, like other drafts we've seen. (I know)

But I also know human nature...

Desperation...

Impatience...

And now there's 8 Teams with the 1st Rd ammo, to spend like a drunk cowboy at a casino.

Maybe 1 drunk cowboy plays it safe & stays smart with his money.

But 8 drunk Cowboys? No way...

1 or more of those teams with multiple draft resources are going to play aggressive. The question is...which ones.

I may be wrong & maybe they will be smart with their draft picks.

But if I'm at that casino...

I'm laying all my chips on at least 1 of them, going crazy. (Im expecting even more than 1, though)

This draft is going to be nuts, imo. Crazy...

1. One of the only holes the MN vikes don't have is OT. We need a CB, S, EDGE, DT, LB, G, C, TE, WR. If Sauce, Hamilton, and Stingley are gone I think they would try and trade down or take Jermaine Johnson II, Davis, McDuffie.

2. I like the idea of crazy trade scenarios but the giants trade up for #1 in a year where there is not consensus #1 prospect seems unlikely.

3. Hope the Lions do take Kayvon Thibodeaux AKA Dion Jordan :)

4. Not sure why the chargers are taking a C?

5. Would love for the Bills to take Hall (#1 pick for dynasty FF)
