Welcome to Prospect Fatigue....we've been here a while....

Countdown is on.  I'm in full blown prospect fatigue, despite me not wanting to get into the draft this year.  (I blame all of you.)

I've run hundreds of mock drafts, and typically end up taking the same guys at the slots time after time except for rounds one and two.

Whatcha gonna do during the draft?  You staying at home?  Hitting up a bar?  Any good food for the event?

Me?  Thanks for asking.  I'll stay at home, but I'm going to fry up some chicken wings and then finish them on the grill.  With ranch, as God intended.

I'm going to make sure that my wife has the remote control when the Packers pick, just to eliminate the possibility of me throwing it against the wall.

I'm hoping to land Olave in round one, one way or the other.  Just because it makes the draft easier afterwards.  Totally on board with a safety, EDGE or OT in round one as well.

But really, the jewel in this draft to me is Pierce.  If I look at what we want to do on offense and the player that just fits, it is him.  So I hope we find a way to make him a Packer.

So, live it up today everyone.  Tomorrow will be upon us soon.  Let me know what your plans are who is your "jewel" in the draft.  Round doesn't matter.

Draft in the UK starts at 1am and if the Packers stay to their picks, it will be around 3.30am before they are on the clock. Previously I would watch the draft get a couple hours of kip and then wake the kids and get them to school. I'm feeling old and haggered these days, so after weeks of begging the wife, she agreed, I could stay in a local hotel for two nights, so after the 1st round is finished I can get about four hours sleep without having to worry about dealing with the kids and then if need be I can have a nap in the afternoon. At first the wife didn't trust me to be alone in a hotel but eventually she caved in. I can't wait, me, a bed, a couple of laptops and a pack of wet wipes...

I didn’t get to see Cinci play very often last season but he was pretty much invisible vs Bama.  2 catches for 17 yds against the weakest secondary Saban has ever had at Bama. So I’m concerned that “jewel” might be CZ.

Rushing home on Thursday so that I don't miss the entire thing.  I'm probably going to eat a sandwich, because those are good.  I have all kinds of snacks left over from the birthday.  Friday I will probably stay home, but I don't know.   Saturday I have a lot of stuff I need to do, so I will probably track mostly from my phone.

I'm hoping for Christian Watson of the WRs.  He checks all the physical boxes and played well at the Senior Bowl practices.  The only "small" WR that I like is Skyy Moore.  I think that Alec Pierce and Kevin Austin Jr are pretty good fits as well, a little later in the draft.

I think we also need an edge rusher.  My preferences are:  Johnson II, Ojabo, and Drake Jackson, but I have zero problems with Karlaftis and Mafe.

I think of all prospects in this draft, Zach Tom screams Packers more than anyone.

I would also like for us to end up with Travis Jones or Perrion Winfrey.

Got Luke Goedeke tabbed as mid-round OL Packers can't pass on. TE turned OT now projected to G.  From Whitelaw, WI. Started his college career at UW-Stevens Point before transferring to Central Michigan, college home of Cullen Jenkins and Frank Zombo.

My wife and I welcomed our first child, a boy, earlier this month and he will be nearly two weeks old on draft day. I am on leave so I will be able to watch the entire draft! For day one we will be going over to a friends house. My buddy (a 49ers fan) will be smoking something on the traeger. Little man will need to nurse and sleep a couple times during the first round so my wife won't stay the entire time. Day 2 I am thinking wings. Both Day 2 and 3 will be from home more than likely.

Wish list (Day 1): Karlaftis, Olave, Pickens, Tyler Smith, or Daxton Hill

I'm currently sick but I'm hoping to return to work tomorrow and feel well enough to enjoy the Yuengling my mom brought back to me from my sister's and I can smash some wings while watching from home.

I want Daxton Hill and George Pickens tomorrow but I'm also open to a ton of other moves. I love the idea of trading up to land a premium talent while also loving the idea of dealing back and picking up more cost controlled potential impact depth.

The only way I hate tomorrow is if we take one of Mafe, Green, Raimann or Penning, though Penning I could be talked into.

I can get behind HIll and Pickens.

Now give me your next two, in the second round, assuming GB stays where they are at.

Here are mine, given those first two....Winfree (DL), Thomas (Edge).

Ideally? Cam Thomas and Logan Hall.

Those for picks 3 and 4. That'll do, nicely. If instead they get two of T.Jones/Winfrey, and Pierce/Pickens/Watson, I could live with that too.  😎

You could add Tyler Smith to that group as well (though I think he does go in the early-mid 30's).
