Texansfan713
Quote Overview NFL slot projection with good polish but a lack of noteworthy elements in his game. Metchie has decent size but average play speed. He's proficient in more sophisticated routes but lacks explosiveness to separate and will have to prove he can become a more physical wideout to win contested catches at the pro level. He can play multiple receiver spots and has the ability to take what the scheme provides him. As long as his recovery from an ACL tear goes smoothly, Metchie has a chance to become a starting slot receiver with a relatively modest ceiling. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/john-metchie/32004d45-5437-3452-4786-13bd57b6dd0c Edited April 30, 2022 by Texansfan713
Pastor Dillon
Again I like that we took a WR. I don’t love taking someone that will miss the season because of injury but this is a long term investment, probably thinking we don’t have cooks beyond two years. He supposed to be ready by training camp.

Metchie was a projected second- or third-round pick before his December injury, with his earlier surgery than Williams’ in January generating fewer questions about his availability for the upcoming NFL season. Metchie said at the NFL combine that he expects to be cleared by June, and he is still widely viewed as a second-round pick entering draft week.

Modern advances are crazy.
LORK88
I'm a fan of the pick. I love this quote from Saban on Metchie: “This guy is the epitome of what you look for in a wide receiver. He is tough. He plays hurt. He plays physical. He gets open. He makes catches. He makes plays. He never complains.”
candyman93
Random, but I think the Browns have traded with you guys more than any other team in the NFL. It’s probably because Haslam and McNair are the same person.
