Hopefully you guys sign some veteran receivers to help out. Fields needs some help out there.

Jarvis could be a solid fit for you guys.

You'd think from all of wailing and gnashing to teeth both here and in the media that the Bears have no WR.  The WR core is better this year than last and it just got another very unique weapon who among other his skills is killer at YAC.

No one even in Chicago has the faintest idea of exactly how Luke Getsy plans to scheme his offense and what kind of receiving talent he prefers to have for it yet everyone believes they know the perfect fit for a Bears rookie WR.

It's Pickens, no Watson, well what about Pierce then, I like Jalen Tolbert too, do ya' think there's any chance we can draft Tyquan Thornton, should we trade up to get Olave?  Everyone knows the perfect guy......until they don't.

What I believe is this group of WR will be far more productive than the 2021 version was and that Justin Fields won't lack support.  Also by featuring the run game again there will be less targets to share period so let's not prejudge.

Fillin' up on camp fodder hoping to find a ruby in a mountain of or a coupe de ville at the bottom of a cracker jack box.

When all is said and done we need a head count on how many are now signed.  The difference between that number and 90 is how many more players we need.

I love Landry but for what he would cost I would rather have Daryl Williams & Keelan Cole

Well...we're not talking about a video game, or a fantasy league.

If they can sign Landry, they should.

Based on their moves this season I'd say this is just it. Bears O is probably going to be more rb and tight end based than it is WR based.

People want to talk about helping out a young QB ...well if you run the ball well and give him some big reliable targets then he can still be very productive and make the jump we are all hoping to see.

Protect the **** out of him and don't ask him to do too much. That's how's bad things happen.

FWIW, and it ain't much, here's my take on the draft.

1) Poles may have wanted to trade down earlier but found no trading partners.

2) As player, like Logan Hall, came off the board earlier than expected Poles was forced to re-plan and Gordon was his BPA and not coincidentally a need as well.

3) In Gordon and Brisker we got two day one starters for the defense at positions that absolutely had to be filled on way or another.  Gordon is easily an equivalent of Jaylon Johnson. The other Safety position was a gaping wound we'd either need to draft for or keep doing what Pace did by signing vets to one year deal.

4) Brisker specs out as a very good football player which tends to be true of many PSU draftees.  He's also a leader on the field which is good since EJax has been shirking his responsibilities in that regard lately.  Brisker seems to be an ideal S for this defense.

5) "Flus" wanted another starter here but had to settle for more of a versatile contributor who can catch, run, return KO/Punts, and with his 4.3 speed generally cause concern for a defense wherever he lines up.  He may not have been who we'd hope for but if his skills help up to put more points on the board well then Poles made a smart pick.

6) Round 5 gave us a decent Edge Rusher prospect and a decent LT prospect.  Other than as depth they probably won't see that much playing time this year but they're a sign of Poles looking at his needs in 2022 and beyond.  Quinn will almost certainly be traded or released and we still need a LT to take charge of that spot and "own it".

7) The rest are a collection of guys drafted primarily for traits that fit the schemes "Flus" and Getsy plan to run.  Wish we knew just a bit more about the specifics of all that but I'm comfortable with both.  If we can pull another starter or two out of the final eight picks or at least find some front line depth then in Poles eyes it will be a successful draft despite missing out on some top guys.
