He only played TE because Tonyan got injured and Sternburger was surprisingly cut very early on in the season.. A lot of the TE pool apart from maybe Bellinger was replicated and redundant compared to what Tonyan brought to the table. Granted, this seems like a team that would be built around 2 TE sets but Deguara can fit the #2 receiving role. All they really needed was a thumper for the run game.
