Was surprised and disappointed in the Walker pick in round 1 but I think he's going to grow into my favorite Packers defender. He's the athletic ILB I've wanted for well over a decade.

I'm with @Arthur Penskeregarding giving up the 2 - 2nds for Watson, but if he turns into 'that guy' the price will have been well worth it.

I usually come away on the end of draft week unable to give a decent grade but with a "it'll look better in three years time" feeling. This year though, I've got to go A- bordering on a flat A.

Who knows how it will look in three years (or even 12 months) time, but God damn that was a hell of a draft from where we stand here and now.

We went in needing help one the line and at WR, as well as potentially TE. The board never quite fell on the last one, but we have potentially killed it in the other two. All three line picks are being lauded as good-to-great value by the types that never seem to give credence to how we draft and develop at those spots. Once you factor that in and the fsct that Steno has been a psychotically excellent coach on the line, and we're looking pretty great there.

Bakh, Runyan, Myers and Jenkins as starters with Nijman, Newman, and now Rhyan, Tom and possibly even Walker to fight for the fifth spot is something to envy no matter who you areB. akh is the elder statesman turning 31 early in the year... the next oldest on the whole roster is Jenkins who turns 27 around week 16! We added upside as well as day 1 potential, versatility as well as top athleticism, and both intelligence and quintessential "Packers lineman" picks on all three (maybe less on Walker, but he's silly value for Rd 7).

A few weeks ago we had next to nothing at WR outside of Lazard (who I really like in our system when you factor in our blocking) and Cobb for low volume production but a good bit of clutch. Now we've got perhaps the best athlete to come out at the position since Megatron and another excellent athlete in Doubs, plus finally Toure who while I know nothing about also seems to have good upside. Obviously the first two have some work to do and can improve their hands while Toure is a project, but you'd be a fool to not be excited about the potential there - especially under MLF and Rodgers. Two 2nds for Watson hurt but we covered u owell with the rest of our draft and if he gets even close ot his ceiling that will be seen as a steal in the ling run. Adding Watkins as an experienced deep threat is a nice little extra that could prove quite useful in the earlier parts of the season and offset some of the inexperience curve.

Move over to defense, where every year (bar this one for obvious reasons) Packers fans are left rolling our eyes at mocks going WR! WR! WR! WR! as it has been painfully obvious that upgrades have been more needed here for a long, long time... and we may well have got them! Wyatt looks like he could finally be the dangerous guy to need proper attention outside of Kenny. The line actually played quite nice last year, but along with Jarran Reed (and Slaton having a full offseason under his belt), they might be able to be a much more imposing unit in 2022. Getting a big, big body in Ford for the PS or situational play is something I always like to see a late pick get used on too.

I'm a fan of the Quay pick, though I can get why it might not be everyone's cup of tea. I'm quite fond of Barnes but his ceiling is 'reasonable nfl starter' while Devondre showed just how much difference proper ILB play can make, where 'dink it over the middle for a free first down' was an almost guaranteed formula for success on us since Barnett left over a decade ago. If Quay can blow up year one it would be amazing, but I'm happy to be patient on him. And Joe Barry has done some incredible work with linebackers during his career, last season being no exception. Enagbare might amount to nothing, but does have shades of Zadarius to him, won't have pressure to produce early, has two quality players to learn from and of course Barry again.

I hope we pick up value FA at CB or S, mind. We have some ok young guys at depth (and I like Henry Black as a depth guy quite a bit), but some assurance in a position where eff ups can cost you an 80yd TD in the blink of an eye never hurts. If nobody shows any interest in Kevin King I wouldn't even mind him back. Don't know much about Carpenter but he seems much more of a ST guy (which I'm perfectly with).

This team looks an awful lot more whole than it did 72 hours ago, and all those upside picks at the LB and WR spots are in as good a spot as they could haveeb anywhere to realise it in GB.

Probably will turn out to be Gutes best draft next to 2019's I'll say A or A-, trading up with both 2nds are kind of a lot, but it was kind of necessary to get a top talent at WR there when there was going to be a inevitable  run there.

Cant complain about the top picks really, you get a really physically gifted WR, a freak of a 3-tech, and a Campbell clone? Should be 3 starters out of the gate there.

Also can't complain about throwing darts at OL talent again, it seems to work out every year for us finding a guy or 2.

Get your potential edge3, and more developmental depth at WR.

Only thing lacking might of been a Saftey, don't know if Amos is going to be back. But besides that, can't really see much wrong with this draft.

B-

I don't hate the draft, but I also don't love the draft.  Feels a LOT like last year's draft in that it's precisely whelming.  There's little doubt in my mind that Quay Walker is going to be an impact LB at all three levels, but I've never been a big fan of taking off-ball LBers early.  It'll be interesting to watch his career against guys like George Karlaftis and Jermaine Johnson.  It wouldn't surprise me if Walker ends up in the running for DROY.  As for Wyatt, the player on the field is an impact player so long as you're comfortable with the player of the field.  We've needed a running mate for Kenny Clark for a LONG time coming, and I'd argue he had the most impressive tape of all the IDL in this year's draft.  Christian Watson is probably the biggest boom-or-bust prospect the Packers have picked in recent years, and cost a fortune to move up in terms of draft capital.  You're usually not going to find guys with his physical tools that has the production at a high level beyond the top 12 of the draft.  In terms of value, I think you'd probably be better off with him in that 28-36 range rather than any of the WRs that went inside the top 18.  But he's going to take some work, and he's probably going to be a bit of a late bloomer in terms of production.  Sean Rhyan and Zach Tom immediately add depth to our IOL, and I think their versatility adds a LOT to their room.  I think you'll see them move around, but I think both futures are at OG although Tom can play C.  Doubs was one of about four or five WRs that you could argue for that pick, but I also think it was more fit dependent.  I thought value was fine and I figured we would add 2 WRs in the draft so exactly what I expected.  Kingsley Enagbare doesn't really do anything for me, but the value is good especially since there was talk about him being a potential early Day 2 pick.  None of the 7th round picks do anything me, and are largely ST players.  Rasheed Walker is probably the best by default since I think he can potentially play tackle.

D

Walker is all athlete and no football instincts. Think Josh Jones at safety. Trash.

Wyatt was a good pick.

Watson is pass catcher who’s not good at catching passes. Trash

3rd round lineman is good

4th round lineman is probably good

the rest is roster fodder. Maybe one of the last 6 pan out.

Bad draft.

I don't think any B is off base unless Watson becomes a stud. But with all due respect to CWood, I don't think I could see a scenario where he came in here and said A unless it was all his dudes drafted. lol

I just don't think that the board presented itself in a scenario where the Packers would be justified being assigned an "A" grade.
