I would love for the Texans to get Bryce Young. He just has “it” — I’m not worried about the size concerns.

I wouldn't hate it - I'd actually like it a bit more than CJ Stroud. You g is REALLY growing on me, he’s just THAT guy at QB. Young has rapport with Metchie, and a WR such as JSN could be that alpha WR that the team needs.

At this point, there's only one QB I DON'T want - Will Levis. Everyone else is in the discussion.

WR class is weak in both free agency AND the draft but Quentin Johnson should be the first WR off the board.

Has JSN even played in games this season?

He played in a game and got hurt early.

It's being called a hamstring injury... but there are a few thinking he's preserving himself to avoid injury this season. Even with NIL... do you blame him if this turns out to be true? What real incentive is there for him to play when he's pretty much guaranteed to be a top 20 selection? Jamison Williams was a top 5-10 selection before he tore his ACL and still went top 20. Why risk losing 10 spots (and your rookie season) like that?

Last season, he was OSUs best WR, ahead of 1st round picks Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave. Looking at Wilson and Olave in the NFL... I shudder to think of what a young WR who was better than those two would look like. I don't disagree that Quentin Johnson should go #1 at the position, but don't let JSN fall off the map. I strongly feel this is a business decision on his end, and medical evaluations at the combine will probably tell us more.

As far as FAs - I think Jakobi Meyers is the best of a thin group, and I don't see any meaningful cap cuts that will put a WR out on the street. Maybe names like Corey Davis or Kenny Golliday (high ticket FAs who never lived up to expectations) or Hollywood Brown (contract year, but coming off an injury and on a team that is probably going to rebuild around new coaching/FO people).

The WR market is thin on that front, but there are better options than guys like Chris Moore that can be had.

Levis isn’t even a 1st round draft pick

I think he goes top 10 because he looks like he's out of central casting - big, strong, fast, can spin the ball everywhere, can run away from DEs and LBs, put up flashy numbers in a tough conference, etc. His eval is only going to go crazier once combine and pro days happen - he’s going to make some pretty looking throws while wearing shorts and a T-shirt, and scouts will lose their minds.

Levis is going to sink or swim depending on what team he lands on. If he can get to a spot where he’s got consistent coaching and can learn how to play QB (Pittsburgh if they abandon the Kenny Pickett project, Green Bay if Jordan Love continues being Jordan Love, Seattle, wherever Frank Reich ends up as a QB coach or OC) he’ll live up to his physical gifts - which are top 5-10 QB traits, he can be significantly good if he refines his tools. If he ends up anywhere where he won’t get the right teachings (Carolina, Detroit and… well, here with the Texans) he’s destined to become another Mitchell Trubisky or Blake Bortles.

I truly belive only Bryce Young will see success with the Texans. The rest will all bust here. Considering they will all be stuck with inferior Texans coaching at least for 2023.

I’m actually thinking the same thing - Stroud might peak at Teddy Bridgewater, but this current group will absolutely ruin the QB we pick. Bryce Young might be the only guy who can survive. I mean, he’s winning with BoB as his OC… so it tells me he’s dealing with the highest level of stupidity in football and actually WINNING games.

I’m scared of a short QB. I know there are some examples, but most of them don’t pan out
