I’d trade 2 and 12 to go up to 1 to get Stroud

We made one mistake by winning the last game of the season. Let’s not compound the problem by getting rid of a top 12 pick.

Thats how franchises stay at the bottom, trying to fix past mistakes but just making it worst.

Is it a forgone conclusion that CJ is going to the Panthers?

I guess they’re doing their due diligence. They’re also visiting Will Levis as well, and will be on hand for Anthony Richardson’s performance next week.

My guess is that they’re dialed in on Stroud, but are taking everyone in - so they have options if someone were to call about moving to 1.1 (I hope the Texans don’t do it, but wouldn’t be surprised if Indianapolis made the call). They could potentially recoup some of the picks they gave up for the move (maybe even an extra pick - nobody has a DJ Moore to offer) and still be in that range to get a guy.

If they gave up a lot to move from 9 to 1, then got MORE back to move from 1 to 4 (or - shudder - 1 to 2) and STILL get a franchise QB? They're going to look really smart.

In 2024 draft news:

Caleb Williams is probably destined to be the top pick next season, but Harrison is assuredly going 2nd overall. This is one of the reasons I'd be ok not drafting a WR in the 1st - use that extra Browns' pick to move up to get Harrison, who has Chase/Jefferson-like ability.

Side note* I hate PFT/ Mike Florio. They’re all fluff. Obviously Marvin Jr is the man, but what did he do?

Am I trippin or should this be a bigger story than it seems?

I think it might be smoke screen - not tip our hand on which QB we covet the most so nobody jumps ahead of us. Carolina has been pretty up front that they’ll move 1.1 under the right circumstances…
