I remember just last week when we said don't bring up politics/topics that revolve around politics. Oh well...

Anyways, at the right price, trading for Lance would be a solid move. Its year 3 though, so there will be plenty of pressure on him to succeed.

Just because your ideas on the world are piss doesn't mean you need to lurk about all salty.

Trade Kirk Cousins to 49’s for Trey Lance and a 2nd or 3rd round pick

Trade Z Smith and D Cook to Denver for J Juedy and a 3rd rd pick.  Maybe wont get the pick

Sign high end veteran backup QB to start the season if necessary.

Needs:  CB, Edge, DT, LB, WR

Draft Cushes:

Do whatever needed to go get Jalen Carter if he slides to the early teens.  Not Aaron Donald but maybe not far from it.

Do whatever needed to get Joey Porter JR if he slides to late teens.

IF we stay at 23:

Myles Murphy Edge Clemson, maybe Keion White Edge Georgia Tech (or best fit/value)

Deonte Banks CB Maryland  (or best CB fit)

Bijan Robinson RB Texas (could be the steel of the draft)

Brian Branch S Alabama

Here is what I came up with about a week or so ago.

If trading for Jeudy why do you feel WR is still a need?

Kentucky quarterback Will Levis is now the favorite to be the No. 2 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft.

Multiple sports books have installed Levis as the favorite to be the second overall pick, either to the Texans or to some other team if the Texans trade down.

Lots of intrigue at the top of the draft this year.

Explained in detail why I find trading for Lance is such a bad idea. If we do stay out at 23, which I think we will do, I hope Joey Porter Jr. falls there.

yeah, i'll guess we trade down from 23, but Porter there would be a fine pickup.

Has betting gotten out of control?  Other than Atlantic City and Vegas, it was always a "behind closed doors" thing and then tribal casinos were legalized.   Now its crazy.  Good luck to whatever team picks Levis.   His game tape compared Stroud?   C'mon, it's ridiculous to think Levis will be a better pro.

Back to the draft . . . Which Big Board do you traditionally gravitate to?

I've seen some real craziness . . . One ESPN ranking has Levis and Hooker ranked in the high 40s, while another have Levis at #6 overall . . . Goes to show how some people think physical gifts far outweigh "being a football player."

I also believe there's A LOT of false advertising by agents so they can maximize their $$$.   They're the double-agents of this whole spectacle.   I'm glad Kwesi and KOC seem to be getting along with player personnel decisions.   We saw what happened with the previous regime, and I kinda wonder if agents get into arrangements with GMs that test limits of ethical integrity.  In any case, 5 days of waiting on pins n needles.

We'll see which, if any, pro-bowlers get traded.   We'll see if future draft picks get mortgaged.  We'll see if the decisions lead to more wins, deeper playoff runs and ultimately winning the SB.

I’m not buying any of this smoke.  I think Carolina still wants Stroud, but I also think that Carolina knows that Houston really wants Young and they are trying to scare Houston into trading up to number 1.  Houston is calling Carolina’s bluff and saying that they are fine with Levis if Young is off the board.  I don’t think Houston would take Levis at 2 though.  I think that Houston would be more likely to trade up from 12 for him.  It’s all just posturing between teams at this point.

In reality I think the first 4 picks of the draft will be:

1. Carolina-Stroud

2. Houston-Young

3. Team that trades up-Richardson

*Seattle, Detroit, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Tennessee, Washington, and Tampa Bay could all be trying to move up to 3.

4. Indianapolis-Levis

In terms of athletically gifted but raw QBs in the draft over the past 10 years or so where would Richardson and Levis rank, I would put them here.

Josh Allen
Justin Fields
Carson Wentz
Lamar Jackson
Trey Lance
Jordan Love
Zach Wilson
Marcus Mariota
Anthony Richardson
Mitchell Trubisky
Blake Bortles
Kyler Murray
Will Levis
Jalen Hurts
DeShone Kizer
Johnny Manziel
Malik Willis
Kellen Mond
Matt Corral

Kyler Murray I was not super high on, has done well in the NFL but has never really won big at all and gets hurt a ton.  Note I did not like Zach Wilson a ton coming out and he was pretty unproven, Mariota coming out I thought was super overrated, not a huge Trubisky guy, hated Manziel and did not love Hurts or Willis.

Richardson does have crazy upside and more athletic upside in terms of raw size and power than any QB on this list arguably.  He is so unproven though, could argue no QB on this list is more unproven in college than Anthony Richardson is and that is with Trey Lance who only played 1 season really at the FCS level and Murray who only really started one season in college.  Levis is a lot like Hurts, but doubt he will get the supporting cast Hurts has got much less the best OL coach in the NFL which the Eagles absolutely have.   Levis has a stronger arm in terms of velocity than Hurts but Hurts is a better leader, competitor, teammate, worker etc.

Hard to make a list like this, but in terms of athletic mobile QBs in the last 10 years this is how I would put it.  And if some are like Lamar Jackson was not proven as a passer in college, even he threw for over 3500 yards two years in a row and 27+ TDs passing both seasons not to mention rushing for 1800+ yards each year with 18+ TDs each of those seasons as well.

I’m not sure where I would rank them along those other QBs, but I think there are a lot more QB needy teams this year than usual and that will push them higher up the board than they would normally go in a different year.
