2023 Draft Talk

Y'all see a couple of those small school OT weigh-ins at the Shrine Game?   I was checking 'em out thinking the Vikes may need a 4th/5th round OT.

Kareem Telford from UAB has an 87 1/4 wingspan with 35 7/8" arms . . . But 8 1/2" hands🤔  He's 6' 7" and 319 lbs.   Hopefully, he'll show some quicks this week and then at the combine put up reasonable numbers.

John Ojukwu from Boise St fits the bill too at 314, 6' 5 1/2" and 84 1/2" wingspan.

Carter Warren from Pittsburgh could be a running mate behind his Panther Alum.   He measured 6' 5 1/4" 323 lbs, 35" arms, and an 84 3/4" wingspan.

DT-wise, Broderick Martin from Western Kentucky checked in at 6' 4 1/2", 337 lbs 34 3/8" arms and a 84 1/4" wingspan.  Is this guy possibly capable of being the next Kinsale Joseph or Pat Williams?

That's it for the hogs!

Someday everyone will realize that there is more than 1 way to win championships.

I think they should draft a qb if one falls that they believe in but if not,  they have to add some talented youth to the defense

I still say that the draft should go offense early.

As for your other point - A lot of people don’t want to wait for a 2000 Ravens defense to take place, and if you’re referring to the people that want a young QB that actually gives them financial flexibility with the rest of the roster, then I don’t see your point.

Never understood the Cousins hill that so many people want to die on. He played well in 2022 and I was a fan of his play, but I’m not silly enough to actually believe we are going to win a Super Bowl with him. He’s not that guy. But yes, there are many holes that we need to fill. QB is still one of the most important ones with an aging QB.

So I don’t think they should just wait for one to fall if there is indeed a QB that they whole heartedly believe in.  Sometimes you have to make moves to get your guy.  Not everything can be finessed or approached with patience.  If you want a guy, go get your guy.  If they believe in Richardson or Levis (I hope not on Levis), then they should trade up to the Top 15 to get him.

They don't need the 2000 Ravens defense to compete for a championship but the defense will need to be a lot better.  Hopefully the new DC helps some but he'll need more talented players.

Richardson seems like a risky player to trade up for but I think he would be coming into a good situation

Everyone else likes to throw in Kirk into every thread at every opportunity to just bash him for his cap number...which is becoming more irrelevant every year, just as it will for every QB in at least their 2nd contract from here on out.  The time that you have to have your QB on their rookie contract to win a Super Bowl is coming to an end.

I am interested in to see if KOC & Kwesi do look at drafting a QB in this draft D1 or D2. I'm not a huge advocate of it this year and haven't spent a ton of time looking into them, but seeing the success of even say Jimmy G, BP, & Hurts has some thoughts rolling thru ones head.
