ronjon1990
Happy with it. LB could be a slaughter in terms of competition during camp. And we actually have REAL LBs for once. I really like this unit.
MrOaktown_56
Decent player right? I think we'll keep 5. Perryman, Deablo, Brown, Kiser, Young.

Rams fans spoke highly of him when he was traded. Not a star, but a key cog. Depending on where Fackrell is intended to line up, I could see us keeping 6 with Graham's 3-4 heavy scheme. 3 definitive starters and a designated backup for each. Definitely keeping 5 LBs at least, imo. I LOVE that Fackrell, Brown, Young, and even Kiser come in with extensive experience. Usually, we seem to trot out a shallow list of filler names at LB. Provided everyone is healthy and up to their known standards, it's a low key really good LB corps. Also pleased that all of them come from winning cultures. That raises their expectations of teammates by default, especially when they all come in with more playoff seasons under their belts than not. Who knows what our offense ultimately looks like, but the defensive culture shift should be readily apparent. We signed a lot of quality supporting players on D. We may not have that one or two tone setting stars yet, but we've definitely got winners that didn't just come from the bottom of the roster elsewhere.

Humble_Beast
I was hoping Deablo was locked in starter and a foundation piece. It does seem like their be alot of competition

That's where he definitely has a leg up on Brown and Young. I wouldn't mind Young as more of a blitz LB though. Dude nearly decapitated Gardner Minshew and seems to have a knack for getting behind the line. If we're running a 3-4, I see the base set as Deablo-Perryman-Young-Brown as the depth order. I think Young actually has some experience playing ILB, while Deablo was an OLB convert. I imagine it starts out Jones-Perryman-Deablo-Crosby as the 4 LBs starting, unless Young outperforms Deablo early. Then I'd save Deablo as a nickel subpackage guy while Young plays the majority. Should be interesting either way though. We shouldn't have a problem of getting winded and losing quality as guys rotate, that's for sure Edited May 10, 2022 by ronjon1990

Isn't he more suitable for a 5T type role or big DE type role. He's just not got the bend, athleticism of explosion to play that loose 7 or 9T role and I'd imagine he's awful in coverage too. The only way I can see him making the 53 is in an inside role really.
agarcia34
Good pick up. His play from last year would think Perryman would have that spot locked down but I wouldn’t think that’s set in stone. A lot of bodies who are capable let them play it out and best man’s wins
Humble_Beast
solid pickup, he was on my short list. I like our LBs in Perryman, Deablo, K Young, J Brown, and Kiser. 5 solid options

I just don't think that Graham is going to run a 3-4 defense all of the time, I think that he'll throw a lot of different looks at teams depending on the matchup and where he sees mismatches and that Ferrell will play primarily in a 4-3 edge role/3-4 DL with his hand in the dirt. I'm not comparing Ferrell to Williams because Leonard Williams had shown more early in his career. But Leonard was also kind of miscast playing for the Jets and only had 0.5 sacks during his last year with them/half the season with the Giants. During his first year under Patrick Graham he elevated his game to a new level with career highs in sacks (11.5) and TFL (14). I also think that Ferrell is essentially a lock to make the roster as well considering that he has the second largest cap hit on the roster this season and we save $0 by cutting him. If we were going to move on from him I think we would've cut or traded him when we decided to move on from guys like Littleton, Kwit, and Nassib.
