JSN is getting some really interesting comps right now...pretty much so all of them question his speed which will naturally drop his stock a bit.

Havent looked that much into any of the '23 WRs yet, but if he is any bit like Keenan Allen, he would be a great weapon to have (with Mooney or without)

Allen might be my favorite WR of the last decade

I really like Allen as well but if we are talking about them being the same kind of athlete then JSN shouldn't be going top 15.

I know it’s not how it works, but if you’re guaranteed Keenan Allen with a pick, that guy is definitely going Top 15

I know this was mostly intended for Draft Prospects for 2023, but its left alittle open ended in the title, and there are a few non-premium WRs who are set to hit Free Agency for next offseason

  • Allen Lazard has to be one of the obvious ones for us, maybe Getsy didnt go as hard in on MVS as he prefers Lazard, as I do s a more rounded WR. Not sure he makes it out of GB though
  • Parris Campbell has one of those specific traits that he is great at as an explosive deep threat. But he cant stay healthy at all, and if he does that again this year, probably not worth it
  • Sterling Shepard is a guy who Ive always loved, Im a sucker for a good route runner and natural hands catcher. But also cant stay healthy recently. At one pint I think he had #1 potential, but would be a really nice #2. (this is my Robert Woods for 2022, who could also easily be cut and available)
  • Darius Slayton has pretty much been a tease his whole career thus far, not sure I want to invest in that, but he had some very intriguing moments in the past few seasons
  • Scotty Miller has legit track speed from the slot, but we may have already found our own. Anyone who Brady has shown trust in, is worth checking out

A lot of our 2023 FA at WR will be driven by what Mooney is in 2022 IMO. If he takes another step and is a viable #1 option in 2022 then there’s a pretty good chance we’re paying him handsomely next offseason rather than letting him play out his walk year, which would obviously influence what else we might do at the position.

I like Shepard but he’s rarely healthy either (played 10, 12 and 7 games the past 3 years), and he’ll be 30 next year. Unless Slayton makes a big jump this year he’s a complementary player IMO. I do like his skill set a lot in a vertical passing game though. If he puts up another 50/750/3 season (2020) in his walk year this year what’s that market going to look like? I’m thinking that puts him in that Russell Gage range (3/30 with 20 guaranteed). We might get that from Pringle this year if we give him 90+ targets, at 60% the price.

Obviously it all hinges on Mooney. If he drops off, and they dont believe hes a #1 Target, then we are probably focused on finding one via the draft the next couple of years to grow with Fields. But I think Mooney is that WR1 for us, so I also think we will be looking for a good compliment while we try to cultivate these Special Talent weapons like KC has through the draft.

Those that I Identified here, are in my mind, #2 or other complimentary guys. If Lazard hits the market, its only because he isnt good enough to be Rodgers #1, but would be a very high #2. And like I said with Shepard, his #1 potential has fizzled out, but he would be a very good and reliable complimentary #2 if Mooney feels like he is Fields guy. And they probably wont break the bank, after the large top tier of '23 WRs.

I wouldn’t hate any of the guys you noted except for Campbell (only because of health). I think Lazard is going to put up big numbers in GB this year if for no other reason than because they don’t have a ton else at WR. Watson is a rookie. Watkins is washed. The rest are just guys. Lazard might see 140 targets this year.
