2007

2004

2014

2016

2020

2003

2017

2001

2018

2011

Though it’s difficult to rank. 2018, for instance, was a completely different team in the playoffs than the regular season. If you just watched the playoffs they would look like one of the most dominant teams. The only thing I feel strongly on are 07 or 04 are the top ones and 11 is by far the worst

I would def put 2018 over 2001 lol. The 2018 team was better in both the regular season in the playoffs and actually had an offense worth fearing.

The 2001 team was a combination of a Troy Brown greatness, clutch play by Brady/Vinatieri at the end of games and a good defense.

I love the 2014 Team but they probably had the worst offensive line of any of these teams outside of 2001 and 2017.  Also Brandon Lafell was the number 2 WR lol.

Love the secondary though.

2018 is clearly superior to 2001

Defensively they were stupid stacked though. Peak Hightower, McCourty, Chung, Jones, Collins, Ninkovitch. Then you still had Wilfork playing at a high level. Then they brought in Revis who had an All Pro year.

On pure talent that’s the best defense they ever fielded.

Offensive weapon wise it was probably the best offense they had since Welker left. Gronk was healthy all year, Edelman came into his own, Amendola was making clutch plays, Lafell was a solid piece, and then Blount was a stud running for us. Offensive line was the only question mark and even then, they tightened up as the season went on because Scar was amazing. That was also Stork’s debut year and they still had Cannon, Vollmer, Connolly and Solder. They were actually really good once they got going.

Best offense since Welker left isn’t really saying much. They were historically great with Welker and really good without him.

Its  more about comparing that group to the other Super Bowl groups and they’re near the bottom.

It was one of the few years you had peak healthy Gronk and peak Edelman together. Edelman missed most of the next year, Gronk missed the year after that, Edelman was out in 2017. Both missed games in 2018 and Gronk was a shell of himself that year. Then Gronk retired in 2019.

It was the only year of the Edelman/Gronk era where you had both healthy together. That also happened to be a year where you still had prime Amendola, Vereen catching out of the backfield. Lafell was number 2 in the loosest of senses. Gronk and Edelman were 1 and 2. Lafell, Amendola, and Vereen were all role players after that in the passing game for different packages. They were the 4th ranked offense in points per game. And even that’s a misleading as the Broncos had a hot start, but Peyton totally fell off and had his decline midway that season, so by the end they were clearly a top 3 offense only bending a stacked Packers offense with Rodgers playing like an MVP with Jordy, and then the Eagles.

You are underselling how good the offense was.

Edelman is a non elite receiver so “peak” Edelman doesn’t really say much. A better way to say it is you have the best TE in the league about the 13th best WR in the league on a given year and a bunch of guys.

Im Curious though, just in offense where would you rank 2014 in regards to the other teams? This includes offensive line
