New Stadium Thread

Watching fans celebrate on twitter that DC, MD and VA won’t agree to a stadium is pretty funny. They can thank these same politicians that won’t be living here when we don’t have a team anymore because they’ll be cities lining up all over to get an NFL team if he decides to relocate.

Damn Snyder isn’t relocating the team. And, if he didn’t we’d get an expansion team rather quickly with a new/hopefully better owner.

I’m not sure I understand what you mean about “the politicians not living here?”

The politicians that are in the VA State assembly have mostly all lived in Virginia their whole life. Chap Peterson was born in Fairfax, he talked about making the trek to RFK from Fairfax with his dad growing up and going to games.

The State Senator from PWC - Jeremy McPike - who was on with Grant & Danny was born in Washington, DC and now lives in Dale City.

You don’t really believe the only home they own is in Virginia do you?

And why in the world would the NFL give us an expansion team if we lost our team? Not only that, but quickly? No chance.

Because this is a top TV market. We wouldn't be without a team for very long.

They did for Cleveland. They suspended them playing for 3 seasons. They returned in 1999 after missing the 96, 97 & 98 season. Also, we’re the national capital, they want the NFL here. The NFL has had a team in Washington or this area for 89 years.

No, I know they have more homes but Damn Snyder is a different case than most owners. Most owners buy the NFL team as a toy/fun after they’ve made so much money doing other businesses.

It is true that Damn did that but, he’s a lifelong fan of the Washington Redskins/Commanders. It’s rare a fan of the team is able to buy that team. He went to RFK with his dad, he has those memories, he’s not moving the team. IMO.

Ya just saw the tax breaks trying to lure Washington to Virginia is dead.  No one wants to give Snyder any tax money and I don’t blame them.

Snyder could get $5 billion to walk away. God I wish he would.

I would guess closer to 7 billion.

I don't think there was ever a chance the RFK site would work, Snyder or not, as the community doesn't want a stadium there.

But they are just going to build it on the land he already owns and honestly it will probably turn out quite well that way.

I'm not sure they're worth THAT much more than the Broncos, but you never know.

Denver doesn't even have a population of 1 million people.  It is like a bus stop compared to the DMV.

They seem to have a great fanbase, and haven't had their popularity drop as a fanbase substantially since 1999. You might be right. $7 could be the number and I wouldn't be surprised. Closer to $5 wouldn't either.
