ET80
Hard not to like Romeo the person - wasn't the best coach, but was a likeable guy by everyone. His health was always a concern, so I'm surprised he's JUST retiring. Good luck, Romeo!
ronjon1990
Good dude. Pretty decent coach. I always admired him, particularly as he could take awful situations and make them at least somewhat respectable as an interim guy. Always wondered what he could've done with a few years and a stable franchise. Congrats on retirement!
biggie.
Weird how he'll be most remembered for him being our DC for four seasons yet his longest tenure was in with Houston. Edited June 6, 2022 by biggie.

roger murdock
The worst in game strategic mind in NFL history? a few of his greatest hits as Browns head coach: Weeks 1 and 2 of 2008: Down 21 vs Cowboys in 4Q, 4th and goal kicked a field goal. Next week down 7 vs the Steelers 4th and goal with 2 minutes left. Kick a field goal. Lose by 4. Team quit on him by week 3. Down 3 vs the Vikings 4th down at 24 yard line with the most accurate kicker in NFL history. Pooch punt trick play with Phil Dawson out the back of the end zone, net field position change of 4 yards. Steelers scored with 2:05 left in the game to go up 3. He called a time out to decide if he wanted to challenge. Runner was clear in bounds. Challenges anyway. Lose both timeouts. Run out of time in field goal range unable to spike in time. many many many weird plays in crucial moments that were either wildly conservative like never going for it when behind, or wildly aggressive like blitzing everyone when it’s 3rd and 28 and you need the ball back. To his credit the teams played hard and disciplined and in a lot of ways. But I’ve never seen a coach actually blow winnable games more than Romeo Crennel. Worst in game coach for the Browns I’ve ever seen, by far.

Soggust
I don't know about recently, but he was an excellent DC for a long time and always seemed to be a super awesome person. I remember during the Jovan Belcher incident, he was the HC and apparently Belcher drove to the stadium to apologize to Romeo specifically before.......yeah. His players always loved him. Props to Romeo. Nothing but love even though he sucked as a HC haha.
y*so*blu
One of my favorite NFL coaches, even though he didn't win many games as the head man. His contributions to our success in the 80s and early 90s are immeasurable. I'll miss him.
SkippyX
My number 1 memory of Romeo is when he and BB made McNabb puke in the Super Bowl. The DC of a 3 SBs in 4 years team deserves lots of praise on his way out.
