BlaqOptic
Champ Bailey's career was widely overrated, while Woodson's career has widely been underrated. Champ was never the shutdown CB people portray him to be. He built a legend off of that one season he allowed 0 TDs and then a later season where Ron Jaworski made up that fictitious 35 target season. God I wish I saved all my CB data on Woodson from the mid-2000s on Woodson so people could truly understand how how great he was.

Ive made my Bailey arguments on here before so I wont go into depth--but I will just say I dont believe there has ever been a pure cover corner in the NFL that did it at a high of a level for 10+ years than Champ Bailey. - Most pass breakups in NFL history - 52 INTs at CB (same as Dion Sanders) - Most Pro Bowl selections by a DB in NFL History - One of the most willing and best tackling CBs to ever play Steve Smith Sr: “[If] I lined up in the slot, he lined up in the slot,” Smith recently said on NFL Network “If I lined up as a running back, he lined up as a linebacker. If I parked my car in the parking lot, he was the parking attendant. Champ Bailey lined up everywhere.” Edited June 22, 2022 by AkronsWitness
OkeyDoke21
This is a tough one. What you would want is the only thing that separates them for me. I'd rather have Bailey as strictly a boundary, but I'd take Woodson on my team for the versatility he offers in putting together a complete secondary. Woodson always seemed like the bigger locker room presence, too, but that's a hard thing to know without actually being in there. Which all encompassing, made me lean Woodson. You can't go wrong with either one.
scar988
Champ Bailey was a shut down corner on No. 1 receivers for the majority of his career. Charles Woodson was a top-level corner, but also played top-level at FS for part of his career as well. Honestly, I'd rather have Bailey. Can build a defense knowing that 1 CB spot is locked up for a decade. Woodson is exceptional though and he's a guy you try and bring in to complement Bailey at some point if you can. Perfect No. 2 corner who can also play FS as his speed leaves him.
Mox
Champ might be the better pure cover corner and Woodson might be the better overall player. Depends on what you want imo. Both are among the best to ever do it.

Soko
Going to lean Woodson here. Champ might be the better cover guy, but Woodson’s the better playmaker, is more versatile, and is someone I know I can sign to four long term contracts. Nex_Gen
Champ probably had the higher "peak" as a player all things considered. But I'm a Woodson fanboy all the way. Give me CWood.
FrantikRam
I'm legitimately surprised people are voting for Bailey. It's a no brainer for me.

He was great for his age late as a Packer when he was switching to hybrid roles--but I dont think at any point from 2002-2010 was Woodson considered a better actual CB than Bailey. Not by the majority of fans and surly not by national perception, stats and accolades. It was a pretty well known thing that Bailey was the guy for about a decade until Revis/Sherman came on. It wasnt until later in his career when Bailey got old and Woodson was doing his iron man thing in GB where any sort of separation happened and Woodson developed a cult following Anywho, just personal opinion. BayRaider
Depends what flavor you need. Lockdown corner? Champ’s your guy. Playmaking Corner who can also be a near-lockdown corner, and also can play any position in the secondary really effectively? Woodson. He was a matchup nightmare for OC’s. I’ll take Woodson but it’s close.

If you’re going to bring up stats for Champ, probably worth mentioning Woodson has more picks, astronomically more forced fumbles, more defensive touchdowns, more sacks, more tackles. Champ has more pass deflections.
