I'm interested to see what happens with Dereck Lively's draft stock this season.

Yeah, I really don’t know where his stock will be next June.

He puts it all together while being a key part in Duke going on a nice run in the tournament and he could easily be a top 10 pick. He struggles and I could see him dropping into the 20s. Very intrigued to see how it goes for him.

Considering Duren just went #13 and Williams went #15 I don't think he'll fall that far. He's reportedly 7'2" with a 7'8" wingspan, is super athletic, has great defensive instincts, and has an improving offensive skillset. The DraftExpress guys said that he reminds them of Evan Mobley as a guy that's a prototypical big in the modern NBA. I think the biggest swing factor for him will be if he can become more than just a rim runner and serve as a floor spacing big as well. It's just tough because the value of centers has diminished so much as of late.

The hope is that we wouldn’t be picking that high again this year.  Hopefully Duren is at least a little better than Stewart. Cade should continue progressing as he had a really solid finish to last year with little help.  Then if Ivey is just a little better than Killian Hayes/Joseph/Diallo then we shouldn’t be in contention for a pick that high without lotto luck.  If we can sign a stretch 4 like Bridges we should be in the playoffs, even if just the play in if these guys are what they are supposed to be.

The playoffs next year will be tough because Milwaukee, Boston, Miami, Philadelphia, Brooklyn, and Toronto all look like they're essentially locks to make it assuming health. So you'd be battling for one of the final 2 spots with the Bulls, Hawks, Cavaliers, and Hornets. Since you're out of the Ayton sweepstakes and the Bridges signing seems difficult to pull off I could see you guys just committing to going all in with your young core next season.

we shouldn't be bottom 4 but i think like 32 wins is probably the ceiling for next year. a cade - ivey - bey - stewart - duren starting five has an everage age of 20.8. outside of joseph and olynyk the next 8 or 9 rotation guys are all under 24. the bench is still suspect and i'm not really sure how bagley fits with stewart or duren offensively if stew isn't a real shooting option. unless cade jumps straight to all nba numbers or bey really starts scoring efficiently there's nothing really dragging the whole group upwards and they're too young overall to expect consistency every night

Duren/Stewart won't start or play signfiicant minutes together. Neither guy has much range offensively to have good spacing if they're playing together.

I get that, but also don’t expect Duren and Stew to be starting together.  I’m guessing we add a stretch 4 of some sort.  Even if it isn’t Bridges, someone like Chris Boucher on a short deal would help spacing.  I’m not expecting instant success but if Cade is expected to be a star, I’d like to see more glimpses of that now.  Plenty of young guys have carried teams to the playoffs/play in recently like Ball, Trae Young, Luka, Garland etc.  I am hoping with a little more help around him, Cade really takes off.

i'd agree but weaver has said a few times since thursday that he likes their fit together and stewart shot like 50% from 3 over the last couple weeks of the season once they started giving him a greener light. if he can take a couple more and stay in the mid 30s that's not terrible. but if not then it's obviously a total spacing disaster

Even defensively you'd have to ask one of them to come out of the paint to guard guys on the perimeter.
