idk if he's forgoing his eligibility or not but gg should definitely go back to school and transfer somewhere with an actual structure in place, learn how to play team basketball, show he can help win games and be coachable. next year is a much weaker class and he'd make way more money as a top 5 or 10 pick next year than going between 20 and 30 this year. what teams in that range will even give him the playing time to figure it out or have the patience to wait for him?

that actually makes a lot of sense and lauri's game helps fix any positional issues if that's your front court

He will be a nice compliment to our Lauri / Luka / Victor big 3

Am I wrong for thinking some team at the end of the first should take Edey? I don't get the 2nd round talk. Yes, the game is different today, but I feel like his size for 10-12 minutes a game could cause a ridiculous disruption. Plant him down low and let him alter shots.

every coach in the league except dwane casey would recognize if you play 5 out for those 10 minutes and make him guard it's completely untenable

I agree it won't work against some teams, but not everyone has a shooting center.

you don't even really need a stretch big. put him in pnr and it's an easy elbow jumper every time. set some weakside pin downs or back screens that he'll never jump out on and it's an easy look for 3. basically any action that requires him to move or rotate not just to the rim and he's a total liability

this also doesn't really mention that drafting a guy in the 1st and giving him a guaranteed 4 year contract to someone you're hoping you can maybe squeeze 10 minutes out of against just a handful of teams isn't how you use draft capital. especially for those teams in that range who are trying to win a championship because he'll get abused so bad in the playoffs he'll get run off the bench

He's going to get fried defending in space. Is 10-12 minutes as max upside really worth a FRP?

With how many bottom end 1st rounders are wasted? Maybe. That's just how I envisioned year 1 was all.
