Lee to miss several games

If Hitch wants a nice payday after this season, its time for him to step up.

And I dont mean just making tackles, either. Guys gotta start leading the men out there. Four years now, its time for him to make a mark on that unit

Problem with Lee being out is NOT just tackling and coverage. Hell, Byron can slide down and hold the coverage. Hitch can go hit somebody. But that looking likentheres no cohesion or direction when Lee is out, thats lost leadership. And that is not good. Could have 6 all pros on the unit, but if theres no one leading the charge, directing the men, organizing the chaos that is an NFL defense (Once described by Tom Landry as an "imperfect mixture of being clueless and knowing what to do"), the unit will fail miserably.

If he’s really stopped meddling, then the strongest sign of it will come with hiring a head coach who isn’t a puppet. We know that he’s taken a back seat in the draft, but it now needs to happen with the coaches.

What do you mean by "puppet"?

Sorry, quoting the wrong person here, but say WHAT? @plan9misfit

This teams draft selections have improved tenfold since Garrett got into the war room. Aside from that blunder of Felix Jones when he was an OC and referred to Felix as "a special" (lol) and convinced Jerry to select him (as likely edited Tv suggested on hard knocks) mostof our offensive selections with him running the show have been good.

Also, have you heard his pregame and postgame speechs? The man embodies leadership as a head coach and has completely remade this team into a well groomed competitor with no surrender to them. He and Romo kept this team at 8-8 3 straight years as a freaking miracle when Romo was the only good player a horrendous rebuilding-era team strapped for cap cash and buried under poor contract management and mediocre players being paid out like all pros.

Garrett is one of the better coaches out there right now, and whats better, is that he is the best head coach for THIS team right now. Build, lead, direct and let the other coaches do their jobs as well. He has helped Make a well trained and well organized staff groom and grind with a well organized depth chart of FOOTBALL PLAYERS, a concept he has stressed since taking over. And its worked. Aside from Romo injury years, hes done very well record wise as well. I mean 8-8 with those teams he helped rebuild, dude, we are lucky we werent 0-16 with that roster. Seriously.

Garrett isn’t remotely close to one of the “better coaches out there right now”. He’s a guy who hasn’t learned a damned thing in literally a decade. If he was that good, then this team wouldn’t be as inconsistent as it is. We’d have sustained success annually, sustained success in the playoffs, sustained success on defense, sustained success against our rivals, and we sure as hell wouldn’t fall apart with three players being absent. Considering people keep claiming how stellar our drafts have been, then the failure to adjust and maintain success clearly falls on Garrett’s shoulders. He just stinks.

And I don’t gave a damn how “good” his speeches are. I care about winning...and he isn’t good at that. But you know who is? Bellichick. And you know who’s terrible at press conferences? Bellichick.
