Sexton and Nance both had great games tonight. He’s been bad all year. He’s hurt, but he’s the worst draft pick we’ve made since Anthony Bennett. If Bennett wasn’t the worst draft pick in history, Garland would be the worst pick since Christian Eyenga. He doesn’t defend, doesn’t get to the free throw line, and can barely shoot. Give the kid time good lord. He missed basically his entire freshman year and then got throw in on a terrible dysfunctional NBA team. he probably won’t be really good till year 5 honestly. But he’ll be good just give the kid time I have a strong belief that guys like Luka/Young/Zion have skewed the perception of some fans because of their immediate success. Its like now everyone expects microwaved success out of all rookies and if they dont, then they are busts. Garland only played 5 games of college basketball, we need to remember that. Hes essentially a guy who we went from HS to Pros and was the #1 PG prospect in the country when he went to Vandy. He hasnt been great, but he has shown flashes of what he can develop into with more experience and consistency. Bennett never showed anything. He didnt even have games that made you believe he could be something better. He was bad pretty much the whole way through. Garland gives you stretches of games/quarters where he puts it all together and thats what you hope to chase for his future.
